TRUMP NEEDS TO ACTIVATE THE MILITARY... Wouldn't the governor need to activate the National Guard and request additional help from the Army from the President??

Kicking self for using
Wiki as a source for Category 4 storms.
The 1900 Galveston hurricane, the deadliest natural disaster to hit the
United States, peaked at an intensity that corresponds to a modern-day
Category 4 storm. Other examples of storms that peaked at Category 4
intensity, and made landfall at that intensity include: Hazel (1954),
Gracie (1959), Flora (1963), Cleo (1964), Madeline (1976), Frederic
(1979), Joan (1988), Iniki (1992), Luis (1995), Iris (2001), Charley
(2004), Dennis (2005), Gustav (2008), Ike (2008) and Joaquin (2015).

Ike was awful. You did an awesome job with that one too,NN. I remember it well. The poor Bolivar Peninsula got slammed so badly.
This looks to be a flood nightmare. I pray people in the path left.

I don’t see Camille-—that was a horror IIRC.

On its current track, the eye looks like it might come ashore at Goose Island State Park (the large shoe-shaped thing on the inside of the intracoastal waterway between Corpus Christi and Port Lavaca). Anyone familiar with this spot?

I’m not completely sure. Since Pres Trump has already declared 30 counties a disaster, the lines are likely in place to activate military, if need be.
I did see this, when I was trying to find confirmation. It is an article about Sandy, but would possibly apply, also, with Texas....
...This will be the first time reservists have been activated for a domestic natural disaster under the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012, which streamlined the process for the Reserve to mobilize in support of relief efforts within local communities....
