Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn has announced that over $140,000 has been raised through private funds to removed a Confederate statue at the old Hillsborough County courthouse.
Original Report: The area's professional baseball, football and hockey teams are helping pay for the removal of the Confederate statue at the old Hillsborough County courthouse.
$140,000 must be raised within 30 days, according to commissioners Bucs, Lightning, Rays donate funds toward removal
County commissioners voted 4-2 Wednesday to allow 30 days to raise private funds to move the Confederate statue.
If $140,000 isn't raised, the statue will remain where it is.
On Thursday, the Tampa Bay Rays, Tampa Bay Lightning and Tampa Bay Buccaneers said they have donated funds to help pay for the removal of the statue.
In a joint statement, the teams said:
"Recognizing that this monument does not reflect the values of our community, in collaboration with the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, our organizations have dedicated funds to assist in moving the statue from the public space in front of the courthouse. Now more than ever before, we must stand united and committed to diversity and inclusion as we all attempt to heal from the tragedy in Charlottesville."
So, how many pro-Trump patriots are going to continue to attend events at these leftist places?
Now watch their ticket sales and viewship take hits
Turnabout . . . .fools
...well, move it from where it is, to the ground.
Yet another reason to boycott the Bucs! Fug ‘em all!
As if I didn’t have another reason to despise Sports Inc.
I hope those organizations take it hard in the finance department.
Then they celebrated by stealing crablegs and raping white girls.
With those big checkbooks, they will raise that $140k in 30 minutes.
um... the easy solution to ALL these problems... conservative cities take the statues from the liberal ones and display them there for the tourists to take pictures of!
My guess would be all of them will continue to attend these events and continue to give them the money to use to kill them with.
I guess they don't understand the meaning of those words.
Now if we could just get them to stop beating their wives and girlfriends.
I don’t watch sports on TV or go the sporting venues, so they do not have me as a revenue source anyway.
People that have to go out onto big open fields at well advertised times shouldn’t participate in eradicating peoples history.
I doubt that they lose the first viewer or ticket sales.
Of course not, their idiot supporters don’t even read, much less read obscure articles detailing their heroes participation in the future genocide of their children.
If I lived there and was a fan of those teams, this would be the end for me. However, I do know squishy republicans who would somehow rationalize it until it is too late ("first they came for...etc.").
To HELL with the NFL!
Another bunch of ignorant jackasses.
