The man accused of ramming his car into protesters in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Saturday seems to have already been found “guilty” by the media… but there may be more to the story than is being reported.

A video posted on Streamable reveals that the driver of the Challenger had slowed down and was apparently calm, until protesters hit his vehicle with a blunt object such as a baseball bat or large flag pole.

If his charges get reduced to manslaughter, expect race riots.

All the defense attorney has to do is show the video clip from the news helicopter of Reginald Denny being attacked by a mob of mutants during the Los Angeles riots.

I don't doubt that his car was attacked. But did he really need to head towards the crowd? Was that the only way out of the area? Seems like there are other streets he could have used, but I'm not familiar with the layout. I'm fine with criticizing Antifa, but I don't think it is wise to defend this guy's actions, either.

IIRC, the people he backed into were advancing on his car to attack him.

I don’t trust this video. It seems like the footage has been slowed down initally to make it seem like the car is traveling slowly, and then the footage speeds up once the car is hit to make it seem like there is an acceleration in response to the guy hitting it with a bat.

I would take this with a big pinch of salt.

There's nothing wrong with presenting facts related to the defense of the perpetrator that are likely to be used by his own attorney in any legal proceedings.

I have no idea what the guy's state of mind was, but a few years ago I was involved in a somewhat similar situation (minus the large crowd in the street) -- and my reaction wasn't all that different than what I see here on these video clips.

BS he killed a young girl. And he drove out of there like a bat out of hell. I repeat you have ZERO right to drive into a crowd at ANY speed. Can others be at fault? Sure, but the driver is still respondible and is a horse’s ass.

Even though it’s been talked about, I’ve not seen it posted here.

When the event happened, I saw various videos posted online and viewed on my iPhone. This video, as well as another by someone in front of where the car struck the crowd, in detail showing the collision and the aftermath as paramedics and cops assisted the victims. That crowd was an angry mob attacking the car after the collision, out for the blood of the driver. That's when perhaps half a dozen protesters attacking the car's rear got run over in reverse, with a gal pinned between the car and a parked truck. She was obviously severely injured, bleeding and unconscious. Don't know if she was the one who died, but she ran towards the car's rear, hitting the car before getting run over in reverse. As President Trump said, violence on all sides.

This is bizarre - there are reports that this young man is mentally ill - may have even been labeled schizophrenic - he is likely disabled under any cultural or legal definition we have - is not the left concerned about such unfortunates? - in any event, if he has been diagnosed with any form of severe mental illness he will very likely be declared incompetent to stand trial or found guilty but not responsible and sent to a psychiatric hospital for “treatment” - what will the left do then????.....

So.... Young man, wrong turn, slowly driving through a hostile crowd, hears a thud, panics, foot slips, mob attacks from all sides, puts it in reverse....

Looks like that is EXACTLY what happened. If you have never actually driven a muscle car much you don’t realize that even a modest push on the accelerator will cause an enormous thrust.
