President Donald Trump denounced hate groups at the White House on Monday, responding to critics of his response to the violence in Charlottesville, Virgina surrounding an alt-right rally.
“Racism is evil. And those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, Neo-Nazis, White Supremacists, and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans,” Trump said.
The president made his remarks in the Diplomatic Reception Room at the White House after meeting with Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the FBI Director Chris Wray.
Trump specifically named Heather Heyer, the 32-year-old woman killed during the protests after a reported Nazi sympathizer drove his car into a crowd of counter protesters.
“We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence,” he said.

Most Americans have no idea what the hell an “Antifa” is. Heck — you didn’t even spell it correctly the second time your posted it. Step away from the internet and get a grip on what really matters to most people ... especially Trump’s base of support.

Trump is a big boy & the buck stops with him. It's well past time for people to blame Ivanka & Jared when Trump does things they do not like.

If you pull the fun out you’re ready to use it and that would’ve instantly turned this into the violent protest the media is claiming this was.
President Trump needs to condemn Antifa and BLM too.
Both groups should be labeled Terrorist by the justice department, the leaders should be arrested, seize their assets, interrogate them, and charge them with terrorism.

Sad that Trump fell for this tactic as it’s being used against him. As we all know - (sarc here——>) Trump’s base is full of Confederate Flag waving Dodge Challenger driving bigots.
Now that he’s condemned us, he’s one step closer to being removed from the White House.
Trump shoulda seen this coming. His first race riot - brought to us courtesy of Antifa and the MSM - and he blew it.

Mr. President. When you give in to the left on ANYTHING they will not like you more. They will not change their views of you. They will double down and STILL cause you racist. They now have CONFIRMATION, by YOU, that the ONLY people responsible for the violence were racist white people who had a permit to have a rally.

Not as long as the people who can really do something about it, the voted in majority government, the conservatives, continue to fold up like a lawn chair afraid of bad publicity and “maybe” lose their jobs at next election. That is their survival.

The catch is - investigating Antifa will be seen as Trump making political retaliation - he has to do it quietly like Obama did with IRS investigations and having the justice department put out studies about how leftist groups are a real threat to the country.
Investigating BLM will be seen as a racist attack.
There’s no political will to do either. I think Trump could generate that will but the GOP will turn against him and immediately impeach him.
I think people are so terrified of being labelled racist, so they only condemn the White Supremecists.

Actually - his first response condemning the "many sides" was spot on. Today's response is very damaging to him personally. He blew this. Bigly.
