...producer Norman Lear, one of the honorees of the upcoming Kennedy Center Honors, said he will not attend the pre-awards reception hosted by President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump in protest of some of the president’s policies.
Lear said he will attend the award ceremony at the Kennedy Center on Dec. 3 but won’t go to the reception beforehand.

Lear used TV as the medium to try and mold and change public opinions, starting with “All in the Family” in 1971, followed by “Maude” and other shows.
Instead of the humorous and escapist TV sitcoms of the 50s and 60s, every show was now dedicated to a leftist cause and why you, the audience, were wrong headed in your thinking about said cause.
It was mind manipulation on a mass scale.
Lear was battery acid to the American way of life.
And still is.

Trump seems to have avoided situations where the hostility level is too high and this might be one of them. On the other hand he attended some Kennedy Center event earlier so who knows.
The one episode of “All in the Family” that I find the most disturbing to watch all of these years later is the Christmas one produced about 1976 that has a draft dodger friend of Mike Stivic’s and the father of a soldier killed in Vietnam being over at the Bunkers’ place for dinner. In it, Mike lectures to Archie “Can’t you ever admit that we were wrong to be there to begin with?”.
We know now of course at the time when that episode was written and produced and originally aired, both the Hanoi government and the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia (emboldened by the US departure from South Vietnam) went on mass sprees of unspeakably horrible torture and killing and forced labour. The establishment press in the United States (if my memory serves me properly) was for the most part silent on all of this, as if to concur with Meathead’s assertion. I can not stand to watch that episode again nowadays (as it would make me very angry to try to sit through it). Bit of a way to judge Lear, isn’t it?

Archie was an Anti-American Hollywierd attack and unfortunately for Lear they loved Archie Bunker and agreed with him. He was supposed to be the villain just like George Patton and the people agreed with the American.
Norman Lear is a Dyed in the Wool Hypocritical Mendacious Left-Wing Liberal. Just like all Liberals he hates Trump, but ask him why and he probably can’t really tell you, he just hates the thought of Trump as President.
Frankly if Trump had any say so he should just rescind the Honor. In point of fact they should just do away with these things altogether. They are so phony in today’s world.
There is cable channel re-running “Maude”. Tried to watch it after not seeing it since it was on. It was terrible, the only thing worth watching was Adrian Barbeau’s breasts.
Bea Arthur strikes me as woman who was never happy and was the epitome of the Bitter Angry New Yorker who hated everybody and was in real life a really Left Leaning Jackass.
From what I read she never liked or got along with any of her cast mates, especially those on “The Golden Girls”.
No amount of Booze would have made her look more attractive at a 3AM closing at the local bar.

Most Americans are now aware that the Hollywood TV and movie industries are intent on pushing sex and violence on the American people. Scholarly studies such as the famous Lichter-Rothmann polls have shown conclusively that the great majority of media producers and directors favor the left wing, humanistic agenda and oppose Christian values.
When most Americans think of the one producer who has done more to “push the limits” of anti-Christian and anti-patriotic television, the name Norman Lear first comes to mind. Through such TV sitcoms as “Soap” Norman Lear has thrust profanity, adultery, even homosexuality into the living rooms of Americans as never before.
Yet Lear is not content merely to broadcast his smut. Nearly a decade ago he founded a political organization called “People for the American Way” (PAW) to help beat back the forces of decency which oppose him. PAW, with 275,000 members has become the most outspoken antagonist of Christian patriotic values this nation has ever seen, rivaled only by the ACLU.
As an ultra liberal “civil liberties” group, PAW stands up for gays, abortionists, and the right to burn the flag. It ridicules Christian, conservative values like prayer in the schools, Biblical creationism, and a baby’s right to be born without first encountering a suction tube or forceps.
PAW has attacked many “new right” televangelists including Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson, videotaping the TV programs of such Christian leaders in hopes of ruining their ministries.
But now “People for the American Way” has a new enemy, an enemy so threatening that on May 11, 1989 they issued a special 3-page press release from Washington, D.C. alerting Americans to beware of the enticements of its message.
