The Boy Scouts of America is disputing President Donald Trumps claim that group leaders told him his was the greatest speech that was ever made to them.
Speaking to The Wall Street Journal, the president said his speech _ which was unusually political for a Boy Scout event _ had been praised by group leaders in a transcript released by Politico.
I got a call from the head of the Boy Scouts saying it was the greatest speech that was ever made to them, and they were very thankful, Trump said, also disputing claims the crowd gave a mixed reaction to the controversial speech.

Having served as president of the Alabama-Florida Council of Boys Scouts some years ago, may I say that President Trump gave one of the most memorable and stirring speeches in decades of addresses to the Jamboree.
Please.
They found both of the Scouts who didn't like the speech.
unusually political
News reports crack me up, the Boy Scouts invite the top political leader of their country and the MSM are surprised he gave a political speech - what did they think, he was going to show them his knot tying skills?
Something I heard back in the day.
Sounds Conservative:

The market has decided that Newsweek isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on.
Pretty hard for me to get worked up over anything this erstwhile rag publishes.
Like Scaramooche’s conversation with the reporter, the Boi Scout leader didn’t expect to be quoted.
It’s embarrassing for the BSA and their generous, degenerate donors busy trying to turn the Scouts into degenerate Mini-me’s.
Newsweek? As a credible source? Really! C’mon ....
I believe President Trump.
“The WH Communications Director has arranged a screening of President Trump’s entire speech to the Boy Scout jamboree, unedited, with wide shots of the audience reaction. Plus a transcript of the President’s full remarks will be distributed. This will be available immediately following today’s briefing. We will take further questions from those reporters who both watch the entire speech and read the entire transcript. Please sign up for an assigned seat to this presentation.”
“Next question?”
I heard the speech and know how great it was. Disregard those leading a group that permits homosexual men to take young boys to the woods and camping.
Transcript is already available: Link. And the speech is all over You Tube.
Good questions.
Remember that the Scouts themselves are members of “Generation Z” (even typing that makes me feel old) — it seems like they are trending conservative (maybe even very conservative) because of Obama’s failed policies during their formative years.
If anyone is angry at Trump, it is the adult leaders, especially those with a desire to “fundamentally change” the Scouting program with the insertion of SJW nonsense.
CNN was making a big deal about Trump’s “casual lies”, claiming people can’t trust him and I was literally yelling at the TV - “If you like your health plan, you can keep your health plan.” “I did not have sexual relations with that woman.””The worst economy in the last fifty years”...
Is this an impeachable offense?
Some may recall a Democrat convention where the boys were boo’d and spat on..
There’s a lot of discussion about interpretation of the speech and reaction, but that doesn’t answer the specific questions, “Did Trump say this?” “Did the Scout Executive say that?”
My 15-year-old son says the speech reminded him of a “Bad Lip Reading” video. Some of those are hysterical.
The answer to both your questions is yes. Not saying that the executive spoke for all boy scouts. Some days half the posts I see is “fake news”.
But otherwise, I figure that if I do a good job with his upbringing, he'll come to the correct conclusions. So far, he has, as he's more conservative than me. We'll see.
His friends? I dunno, and I'm not sure about the scout that I talked to. His dad is a millennial, and mostly on the fence. If I had to politically characterize all of the kids in Wbill Jr's troop, I'd say that they have a strong dislike for politicians in general.
Which, is likely the best attitude to have of all, IMO.
No, of course not. Ask a half-dozen people, and they'll have different opinions.
Thank you. I was confused by people's seeming to say these things didn't happen, because Newsweek. Or something.
Let me get this straight:
Trump proudly tweets that he received some high praise for his speech to the Boy Scouts, so some kill-joy a-hole fake journalist wants to take that away from him by digging up someone at the Boy Scouts who didn’t like the speech, who will refute Trump’s tweet.
This is what passes for journalism?
Folks, nobody should be reading this garbage, much less re-posting it on FR. The only way this kind of fake news is going to away is if it gets ignored by those of us who know how worthless it is.
