The Justice Department’s new terminology for illegal immigrants is making liberal heads spin.
Departing from Obama-era terms like “undocumented,” “unauthorized,” and “migrants,” the DOJ began referring to illegal immigrants as “illegal aliens.”
“Today Attorney General Jeff Sessions met with families who have lost loved ones because of crimes committed by illegal aliens,” read the opening line of a DOJ press release last month.
The term appeared again last week in an official statement announcing tougher rules for sanctuary cities, according to Fox News.
“So-called ‘sanctuary’ policies make all of us less safe because they intentionally undermine our laws and protect illegal aliens who have committed crimes,” Sessions said in a statement.
Naturally, this shift in word choice outraged those on the left who claim the term “illegal” is somehow a racist slur.
Chicago Tribune writer Todd Slowik complained that “word choice is important,” and can send the wrong message.

I don’t get the reaction by liberals.
Historically, the term used was illegal aliens. That changed as the liberals have changed language to be politically correct. Now they are just going back to the historic term. What’s wrong with that?
I understand liberals and PC types are upset, but all they are doing is restoring the language which had been used in the past.
I’m outraged also. The DOJ should call them CRIMINAL illegal aliens.
The old is now the new.
Take it a step further: "illegal alien INVADERS"!
Crimmigrants.
It is NOT new. This is correct term, it is the legal term.

And while we’re at it, let’s change “gay” back to deviants.
Circa, 1780, aliens could not hold land in NYS. It was eventually changed.
Heard a woman on TV (Water’s World?) once decry, “They not *aliens*. They human beings.”
Bingo! That was one of the first things obama did..take them off the terrorist list.

LIEberals use the same tactics as mudslimes: the ratchet effect. If they gain possession for one second, they have perpetual rights to it. Once they have an entitlement, they have perpetual rights to it. If one spends time searching, one will find many examples of that MO in lots of things LIEberals do.
