When I grew up the flight attendants would never question the authority of the captain of a flight.
Who is in charge of the airplane?
What is wring with reporters that they cannot give a recounting of an incident with at least a few salient facts so the reader gains some understanding of the described events?
All I can tell from this piece is that the pilot and stewardess were somehow dismissed by the “crew”, even though the pilot is the leader of that crew.
However, I could not help but be reminded:
A pilot dies and goes to hell. As he is waiting for the devil, he notices three doors. The devil is nowhere in sight so he walks over to door number one and peeks inside.
There he sees a lone pilot, sweating over emergency after emergency, non-stop bells and horns. Quickly closing that door, he creeps to door number two. There he sees a pilot going over checklist after checklist after checklist.
Slamming closed that door, he steps over to the 3rd and last door. Inside is a pilot, along with three flight attendants who are pouring coffee, serving dinners and cold compresses to the pilot. Smiling he slowly closes the door and goes over and sits down.
The devil finally arrives and tells him to choose a door. He laughs and chooses door no. 3. Sorry says the devil. Door no. 3 is flight attendant hell.

LaGuardia Airport is a horror show. Especially with all the construction going on. Add a Mets game across the street and you’ll want to kill yourself.
I was on a Delta flight recently. The FAs were made up like they were on their way to a night club when they got off the plane. Nasty attitude.
Lovers spat?
Not only can the 'source' not count - how hard is it to count to six? - but what does their carrying 'huge guns' have to do with anything? Did she (making a gross presumption here) expect the cops to be carrying pea-shooters?
In an account I read there were ostensibly racial remarks made. I will hold my own counsel as to who had a chip on their shoulder.
This from another anonymous source. Well, he loses.
Was a safe space needed for "some" who witnessed? Counselors on standby?
Well, Delta can’t blame Ann Coulter for this.
No more mile high club for that couple.
Yep.
Flight attendant is probably a newhire and full of herself.
She is probably a minority so feels bulletproof and has absolutely no respect for the Captain WHO IS IN CHARGE OF THE AIRPLANE.
He should have had her removed and replaced before this situation took place.
Wow. Huge, huh? Did it look like this?
I knew an airline captain for a major airline who would have trouble from time to time with flight attendants. One time he refused to take off until a particular attendant deplaned stating “either I go or she goes but if I go this plane ain’t going anywhere” and eventually she did have to leave the plane.
And the authority. It is the pilots plane and if the pilot does not like the look of any situation it is up to the pilot to correct such situation to the benefit of the safety of passengers and plane.
There’s no parking in the red zone.

Why fly La Guardia if a flight - on a similar time schedule - is available at JFK (much better airport), or Newark (available directly by train from Penn Station - a #13 25 min trip).
