President Donald Trump publicly chastised Attorney General Jeff Sessions again Monday, criticizing him for not seeking an investigation of the president's former campaign opponent.
In a morning tweet, Trump questioned why congressional and intelligence committees and the "beleaguered" Sessions are not probing what he called Hillary Clinton's "crimes and Russia relations."
Last week, Trump criticized Sessions for recusing himself from the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election and whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Kremlin. Trump told The New York Times that he would not have appointed Sessions if he had known he would step back from the probe.
Last week, Sessions said he had no plans to leave the job.

Looks like Sessions backed Trump from the beginning to get a position. He got one.
Insider Republicans, like Sessions, are too steeped in the old way of doing things. Trump came in to change the status quo and insiders are not apt to adapt for Trump.
I like Jeff Sessions but if he isnt up to the job Id rather see Trump nominate JAY SEKULOW for US Attorney General.
We need a PITBULL like Sekulow to go after Clinton, Lynch, Holder, Comey, Obama, and Mueller.
If Trump wants to get things done, stop hiring from the inside pool of Republicans! They are not what Trump needs to change the status quo.
I guess Sessions is following orders? Maybe PDJT changed his mind?

“Trump is really acting dumb here. Stop airing this dirty laundry please, Mr. President”
While it’s always possible Trump has made a tactical mistake in how he’s handled this, 9 times out of 10 his ‘mistakes’ end up being done for a good reason. My advice to people is to not rush to judgement yet. There’s so much going on behind the scenes that we don’t know yet. But I think things are coming to a head and we will know shortly.

BINGO!
The reason they (republicans) won’t/havenot prosecuted hillary is they don’t consider what she’s done as criminal and they have no stomach for going through the motions of even trying. All in congress are criminals from my view point .. they’ve all gotten rich off their positions, stock market insiders, paid for their votes by those who want favors, etc.
They view hillary’s crimes as the norm to them. There is no one who wants to tackle bill and hillary.. they think bill is adored and they don’t want to take the heat from the media.. some goes for obama.. they won’t ever do anything to any of them. You’d have to get someone from the outside.. way outside.. to go after the clintons or the obamas.
From your lips to God’s ears.
Why? The new AG will fire Rosenstein and pick his own man for Deputy AG.
“way outside”
God, please do something about these people.
Thank you.
I know most people here are devoted to Trump being a faultless idealist but this is obviously a political move to distance himself from Sessions because of the stupid Russian witchhunt. To just turn on a dime and start accusing Sessions of being some libtard/GOPe spy after years of praising him seems kinda a bit cultish.
Yep, I think he really wanted to see her prosecuted but if Comey wouldn’t recommend it and Lynch wouldn’t allow it even if he did, it wasn’t going anywhere.
Its much easier to go after the low-hanging fruit: Pot, and civil asset forfeiture

The president-elect told the New York Times on Tuesday that it would be divisive to pursue criminal investigations into the former secretary of state over her use of a private email server or conflicts of interest involving her foundation. His conciliatory tone provoked a backlash from some conservatives.
I dont want to hurt the Clintons, I really dont, Trump said, according to a tweet by Times journalist Mike Grynbaum. She went through a lot and suffered greatly in many different ways.
I don’t think Meuller should be fired, I think he should be directed. His mandate should be specific and he should be held to account if it wanders.
I’m embarrassed by the fact that I thought Rosenstein was honorable and was looking out for the country, but once I realized his letter authorized Meuller to do whatever he wanted at whatever the cost I understood that there is no honor in that man and he should not be working in our government

I don’t get this...why doesn’t Trump just order him to start an investigation? He has the authority right?
Dump him!
NOW!!
Very true. Look, Ill admit it - I agreed with Trump when it became obvious that he was going to leave Clinton alone after the election. He clearly didnt want to tear the country apart by prosecuting his opponent and potentially putting her in jail. He wanted the country to come together and heal, and if it took Hillary retiring to some mansion somewhere for the rest of her days to do that - so be it.
But she DIDNT retire. And the country DIDNT come together - and the country DIDNT heal. So now we find ourselves in a very real cold civil war that one side (that would be ours) seems disinclined to engage in. Well, time to engage in it and bring Hillary up on charges. What are the RATS / media gonna do... get mad at us?

Excellent points!!!
My understanding is Trump can make a “request” to DOJ to investigate, but the AG has the final say. I’m way to late for this thread but first he said “Lock Her Up” and then said she and her family have suffered enough. Now he wants to go back lock her up.
The second the deep state and the media came after him, and Hillary and Obama opened their pie holes, he should have unleashed the hounds on the whole Clinton crime family, and Obama Administration. Now he looks like a school boy crying that they did it too.
