At the request of the mayor, Minneapolis Police Chief Janeé Harteau announced her resignation Friday afternoon in the aftermath of the officer-involved shooting of Justine Damond, a 40-year-old Australian woman.

“There is NO REASON a woman should be a Police Chief, Period!”
I agree with you, and I live in Minneapolis. I think the PC is a job for a man.
Not even a very bull dike lesbo should have the job. IMHO.
The person who drives the mamogram machine should be a woman. and again, not a very bull dike..
Wow.I’m a conservative woman that’s a lot smarter than the guys around me. I don’t agree with you.
This chief was hired solely because she is gay, female and Original American (my way of saying native American). Its clear she did not have the qualifications to lead a big city police dept other than those three ticket punchers. Now the Mayor who hired her needs to go as well, and then Noor needs to be indicted for murder 2 and sit his immigrant ass in jail for 50 years.
So you bring someone on board completely unfit to be a policeman because you want diversity (and the personal salary increase or bonus that comes with that) and that person commits murder.
And the only penalty for you is resigning and moving on to some other city?
That’s not how it should work.
Maybe they will think twice before giving retarded savages a deadly weapon.
LOL, nice chatting with you again, Miss M.
Even when ‘women’s suffrage’ was initially an issue, there were women who were alone, and didn’t have a man to look out for their interests - those who had lost their husbands, never had husbands, all kinds of situations.
Those women needed and deserved the right to exercise some power over their practical lives, and to try and effect positive results for the futures of themselves and their children within society.
Miss M. is concerned with what female ‘suffrage’ has come to - millions of women who are ignorant of political philosophy, and just vote upon their ‘feelings’.
I understand her point; but I believe that, like so many other issues we are facing today, it comes down to education.
Women should definitely be allowed to vote, because many of them have done the work to become educated, and vote with considered intellectual conscience - as I’m sure Miss M. does, if she votes at all.
But even many men vote very stupidly today, because THEY are brainwashed and devoid of any comprehensive intellectual grasp of political philosophy. In fact, I know more men who actually go out to vote, than women who do.
Everything will sift out, eventually.
You know, after listening to a lot of the foolish “virtue-signaling” women I am now surrounded with in “senior” living -who really should know better, I totally agree with you.
I suggest going even further - only those who are gainfully employed and paying income taxes should be eligible to vote.
Our representatives would not be accepting bribes to demand that Peter fill Paul’s “entitlement” demands.
What we have now is similar to the first devastating winter or two suffered by the Mayflower settlers - kind of like the tragedy of the commons. It has never worked, and will never work.
Idiots just keep thinking up the same old utopian scenarios, while conveniently forgetting the horrible disasters of history, caused by human nature, greed, desire for power, and laziness.
One of my first cognizant memories was being in a theater watching that horrible movie with my mother .
I remember the Nazi with the Luger and wanting him to make them stop singing.
I dont disagree with you in general; though I believe that there may be the occasional female who can effectively fill that role.
I totally agree with you. When I start thinking women “can’t” I’m reminded of Maggie Thatcher.
This woman ain’t no Maggie Thatcher though.
It looks like Julie has a pair of Ingram Mac-11’s - 9mm
I don’t think there is ever going to be another ‘Maggie’, any more than there will be another Reagan. But we’ll have very different, equally extraordinary people who will come along.
(Including effective female Chiefs of Police, now and then :-)
Good post. Very interesting thread. Thanks.
Ditto that
Chief Harteau: “I can’t lick this. I quit.”
I think she serves as a sort of measuring stick for female leadership roles.
That gives the mayor a chance to replace her with a muslim.
Yep. And they sowed muslims by the boxcar load.
Don’t worry, they will be here. They haven’t met a jackboot yet that did not love to lick.
I agree. Her intellect, determination, ability to stand her ground - and her dignity! - are beyond compare in my lifetime of observing women in the political sphere.
