President Trump said on Wednesday that he never would have appointed Attorney General Jeff Sessions had he known Mr. Sessions would recuse himself from overseeing the Russia investigation that has dogged his presidency, calling the decision very unfair to the president.
In a remarkable public break with one of his earliest political supporters, Mr. Trump complained that Mr. Sessionss decision ultimately led to the appointment of a special counsel that should not have happened. Sessions should have never recused himself, and if he was going to recuse himself, he should have told me before he took the job and I would have picked somebody else, Mr. Trump said.
In a wide-ranging interview with The New York Times, the president also accused James B. Comey, the F.B.I. director he fired in May, of trying to leverage a dossier of compromising material to keep his job. Mr. Trump criticized both the acting F.B.I. director who has been filling in since Mr. Comeys dismissal and the deputy attorney general who recommended it. And he took on Robert S. Mueller III, the special counsel now leading the investigation into Russian meddling in last years election.
Mr. Trump said Mr. Mueller was running an office rife with conflicts of interest and warned investigators against delving into matters too far afield from Russia. Mr. Trump never said he would order the Justice Department to fire Mr. Mueller, nor would he outline circumstances under which he might do so. But he left open the possibility as he expressed deep grievance over an investigation that has taken a political toll in the six months since he took office.

And you are absolutely correct about Trump's use of a WWE strategy.
Trump is keenly aware of that line between reality and WWE stagecraft and he weaves in and out of that line to great effect.
If anything, it is Trump's WWE strategy that is giving the media the tools with which to destroy themselves.
Session's knows this and probably chuckled when he heard of the Times interview.
Most remarkable about Trump is his almost super-human ability to assess the vagaries of human nature in both his enemies and his friends.....and marshalling his mental acuity to act accordingly.
Contrasted w/ sap-happy Dummycrats:
Only a putz-headed jerk-off like Obama thinks putting men in little girl’s bathrooms is “progressive.”

Another concise way to view many events, not just this one, is that there is a war going on, and deception is to be expected.
Super, Liz. And for the parallels, it's well worth repeating the closing paragraphs of David McCullough's tremendous book, 1776:
The year 1776, celebrated at the birth year of the nation and the signing of the Declaration of Independence, was for those who carried the fight for independence forward a year of all-too-few victories, of sustained suffering, disease, hunger, desertion, cowardice, disillusionment, defeat, terrible discouragement, and fear, as they would never forget, but also of phenomenal courage and bedrock devotion to country, and that, too, they would never forget.
Especially for those who had been with Washington and who knew what a close call it was at the beginning -- how often circumstance, storms, contrary winds, the oddities or strengths of individual character made the difference -- the outcome seemed little short of a miracle.
Trump is no respecter of persons. He fires people loyal to him if they’re not doing the job. What he says here is true.
Sessions has left Trump out in the cold, and having handle these partisan accusations alone. There is not one shred of evidence that Trump colluded with the Russians.
I understand he refused to accept Session’s resignation. OTOH, if Sessions submits it a second time, I’m sure he’ll accept it.
Trump is not backing down from anyone. That is clear.
So what’s your take, LS? Feint to deceive the enemy, or a pending replacement? What Mako does DJT maybe have in mind to succeed Sessions the nurse shark?
To play by the rules in this atmosphere...means you will lose the fight.
If you are the only one being fair you do not know your enemy and you will be swamped by them.
The DARE Program was a complete failure, it turned out teens were just as likely to take drugs having taking the classes. I agree that Sessions is a disaster. He is going to allow ‘ASSET FORFEITURE’ without being charged with a crime, how idiotic! US Martials implement that seizure and many Police departments and Sheriff offices receive those vehicles for use in their work, which creates a desire to bust more people.
However, the innocent get caught in those traps, and lose their homes, cars, and other personal properties. No charges, then no crime, and should be no seizure of property. That type of thinking isn’t Conservative, it’s socialism/communism....state has all power!
“Trump is going to pay a heavy price with Sessions resignation. It is catastrophic. Trump will feel the blow-back from this action. He is going to lose a lot of support.”
Only if he doesn’t replace hit with someone who isn’t willing to go after the crooks in our government.
The AG who does that will be an instant hero...especially if he gets some heavy weight convictions.
The only problem with the deception angle is the enemy Left sure have been ceaselessly attacking us/Trump without an ounce of fear that they’d be gone after by DJT’s Justice Dept.
We have not seen a lick of deference or fear out of them, which has done extreme damage to the morale of us fighting to end and imprison the Deep State.
I have the same sinking feeling I had all during the W years.
Agree! Sessions will deliver !
Not that D.A.R.E is a big deal its just indicative of priorities and lack of knowledge(DARE seem to increase drug use).
If its true what the president said then Jeff needs to tender his resignation and learn to stop being such a wuss.
I'll take president Trump over a senator and his word anyday. Senators are paid for losers.
Way to show up for the big game Jeff.
