House Republicans said Tuesday theyve included $1.6 billion in funding for President Trumps border wall in their new homeland security spending bill, setting up fight with Democrats who have vowed to block any wall funding even if it means sending the government into a partial shutdown.
GOP leaders said the $1.6 billion fully meets Mr. Trumps request to begin wall construction, which includes 32 miles of new border fencing in Texas, 28 miles of levee wall along the Rio Grande Valley, also in Texas, and 14 miles of replacement fence in San Diego.
The bill also adds 500 new Border Patrol agents, 1,000 more agents and officers for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations in the interior, and provides enough money to maintain 44,000 detention beds...

We are truly finding out who is on our side and who isn't.
“I had preferred a 6 wall with razor wire, followed by a wide moat with venomous snakes, alligators, and piranhas! “
My wall would be a tad higher and the moat would contain ill tempered sea bass with freakin laser beams on their heads.
The companies that sell these commodities to customers, here and abroad, pay taxes on their profitable income. I can see how you got confused, though.
It doesn’t surprise me that it has taken this long, and that we are paying at least some of the start-up costs.
This is a major endeavor. None the less, Trump is following through.
Folks read these little snippets written with precisely them in mind, and go postal. The MSM is playing them.
By now most folks have learned to hold off and let Trump explain. Those that don’t are just working themselves up for nothing.
I agree with your take on things. I don’t want us to pay for the wall, but for heaven’s sake, the cost of the wall would be paid off in about 3 to 6 months of savings.
I believe Bush (congress) allocated money for the wall in 2006 and though it wasn’t enough for the entire wall it was plenty for a good start.
That money was surely used for other out of control spending.
I was raised Catholic.
Make them pay real estate taxes on all their church properties.
They need to have some skin in the game, as Ovomit would say.
$1 Trillion to Replace Care with Junk
$2 Billion to North Korea to create Nukes
$1 Billion for The Wall
>> So tell me, with the majorities we have, just how are the RATs going to shut anything down without the RINOs complicity?
We need to constantly and vocally remind those who aren’t paying attention that the RATS would be powerless to stymie President Trump’s MAGA agenda were it not for RINO snakes like Ryan, McConnell, McCain, Linda Graham, and others of their ilk. All of them need to be challenged in the coming primaries and thrown out of office.
>>Personally, I have never liked the wall idea. Landmines are so much cheaper and much more effective.
I like the wall idea because it drives the leftists insane. On the other hand, there would be no need for a wall if the pussies in Congress had the balls to enact legislation that would authorize extremely harsh penalties for anyone caught in this country who did not come here in accordance with current immigration law. If would-be invaders knew they would be facing 10-20 years in the slammer with no chance of parole, I think very few would take the risk of sneaking across the border.
SO... the Wall will be the “shovel-ready jobs” that OBunghole was talking about... just eight years too late.
:^)
LOL! I like that and I’d bet bambam doesn’t. ;-)
“...Id bet bambam doesnt....”
Know what makes me smile, everyday???
The thought that that recalcitrant piece of communist crap wakes up every day seething as his “legacy” is being unwound, undermined, and undone.
Americans are back in charge. We won. And he failed.
That makes me smile, every damn day...
The Wall needs a Go Fund Me page.
The Wall needs a Go Fund Me page.
I'm not sure I'm the confused one but whatever.
Just get that damn wall built before it is too late.
