A Dallas-based plus-size model and student who promotes body positivity has used her social media platform to share how she fought back against a body-shamer while on a flight.

Natalie Hage, 30, said the hurtful ordeal happened on a recent American Airlines flight to Los Angeles when she only had a middle seat available to her. She had paid extra for a seat with greater leg room.

When I pay for seat I want to have everything from one arm rest to the other available to me and just me. That doesn’t always happen of course. For someone to complain that they are being shamed because they are trespassing on my space is a bit of hutzpah.

“She works out five times a week”

First law of weight loss and working out: You can never outrun your fork.

They are both fun to ride but you don’t want your friends to ever catch you doing it.

Oink. She should buy two seats. Or better yet, she should lose about 70 pounds. Right now she has type 2 diabetes and congestive heart failure in her future.

That degree of obesity is just as unhealthy as smoking. Yet we do not have people pushing back against "smoke shaming".

That needs to be shrink-wrapped and put down in the cargo bay.

People please! No one has pinged Laz?

He would pay extra just to sit next to next to all this blubber.

Perhaps she too could enjoy the Teddy Kennedy mode of air transport.

They may not be social constructs but they are social diseases. Many social groups encourage overeating and even celebrate gluttony. Try not eating during a group meal where everyone else is on a gluttonous binge. Try staying trim if your friends are heavy.

Thus the importance of fat shaming because it helps break the social acceptance of being fat.

“She had paid extra for a seat with greater leg room.”

Should have put her in the cargo hold.

That picture says it all. Both seated passengers just realized their hope and plans for a nice flight just got dumped on. Mr. Big is too big for that middle seat, but his fellow passengers will pay the price for his lack of courtesy and respect for others.

Lesson for the large, Purchase two seats or a first class seat.

The airlines should figure out a way to deny them boarding if the flights of others is to be that affected. I would quit flying an airline that subjected me to that.

Yep! I smoked for 30 years before society successfully shamed me to quit. That's how it works. People glared at me, told me I stunk. Little kids would walk past me and fake cough and crinkle their noses into a scowl.

Finally, I was so embarrassed and ashamed that I quit. It worked! The unrelenting widespread public social disgust broke me.

You all had no problems for me! We're coming for you next, Porky! Oink! Oink!

Hoax and the guy was in on it.
