The establishment media became upset this weekend after President Donald Trump canceled the “White House Muslim Iftar Dinner tradition started by Thomas Jefferson.” But the media is wrong in every respect. Thomas Jefferson never held any Iftar dinner and only three out of 45 presidents ever hosted one, so there is no such “tradition” to cancel.
Amy B. Wang of the Washington Post led the pack with this nonsense that Thomas Jefferson held the “first Iftar dinner” with a June 24 piece entitled, “Trump just ended a long tradition of celebrating Ramadan at the White House.”
The often-used claim that Thomas Jefferson held the first Iftar dinner at the White House was trotted out by the Post’s Wang. She recounted the time when the diplomatic envoy from the Bey of Tunis, Sidi Soliman Melli Melli, visited Washington during Ramadan in 1805.

I saw this crap about ten days back on some liberal site. I think I was looking up common core and Jefferson. The sad point is these socialist progressives have rewritten so much US history or they just fail to teach factual salient points like this country was founded on Christian principles. The left refuses to point out the constitution was written with God in mind. The ten commandments were commonplace all over DC plus Bible verses are seen on old buildings/memorials/statues etc. in DC.

Agree 100%. I believe the lies by Libs started around 65-66 during the Vietnam War. Regardless of when they started these kids today learn very little of the history that we did. Awhile back there was a 100 question history test on AOL or MSN under the headline 90% or so fail US History. I took it and scored 92 or 93. I am sure many others here could do as well or better. My two sisters are retired teachers, and; the one about my age 70 or over admits the union screwed the students. She also admits many students should have received failing grades. I recall three 21 and 22 year old male high school seniors in my class in VA. You had to have a high school diploma then or be in the military. Only a pregnant gal was dismissed. That was rare as only one out of close to 500 female seniors was dismissed.
Why would any decent person anywhere stage a dinner marking the philosophy of a pedophile?

Yep. They have to rewrite history because they are making for themselves a utopia without God, and all God's supporters are one huge irritant and must be removed if their lives are able to go on as they desire.

However, he isn’t wrong on his report about there being NO tradition of US presidents holding Iftar dinners since Jefferson. With the exception of Clinton, Bush and Obama, no such tradition existed and Thomas Jefferson despised the Muslim religion and its history.
