Rep. Jason Chaffetz trashes Trump and Sessions in interview days before leaving

Chaffetz is checked out.

With less than two weeks left before his early exit from Congress, Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) trashed President Trump and U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions in a no-holds-barred interview.

Chaffetz — an ardent Obama critic who withdrew his Trump endorsement weeks before the 2016 election — said he thinks the new administration is already doing a worse job with transparency and helping congressional investigations.

“The reality is, sadly, I don't see much difference between the Trump administration and the Obama administration,” Chaffetz told the Sinclair Broadcast Group on Sunday.

“I thought there would be this, these floodgates would open up with all the documents we wanted from the Department of State, the Department of Justice, the Pentagon. In many ways, it's almost worse because we're getting nothing, and that's terribly frustrating.”

I have no idea what conservativism means today. If George Will, William Kristol, Glenn Beck and all those illustrious folks who signed the cover of the Anti-Trump National Review cover are conservatives, please deal me out.

“The reality is, sadly, I don’t see much difference between the Trump administration and the Obama administration,”

One can only conclude that Jason Chaffetz is BLIND in addition to being a blithering idiot.

Chaffetz making his relatives in the Dukakis family happy with him so they won’t hate him at the next family reunion.

She may be his niece, but she’s not of his ilk. She’s a conservative.

Everyone is trashing Chaffetz because they’re assuming he meant all the Trump accomplishments. I read the interview and he was specifically talking about The State Dept, Attorney Generals Office, and the IRS. It sounded like his frustration is that they put new people in leadership positions but nothing’s changed within the organizations themselves. I happen to agree with him.

How dare you actually read past the headline.

The typical Trump Cultist’s reading comprehension skills aren’t very good. That is assuming they can read.

Trump only won because the Black vote stayed home rather than vote for Hillary Clinton. He was the weakest candidate we could have nominated, just like Romney.

Any other Republican would have beaten Clinton and not just in the Electoral vote but in the popular vote as well.

Trump won’t be here forever (politically) and after he’s gone the war will continue.

The entire GOP field was a collection of empty suits. Trump was the only one who had a prayer to win.

Delusional much?

Hillary was the pre-ordained queen. No other Republican would have had any chance, given that there wouldn't have been a dime's worth of difference between them on policy.

Silly butthurt #NeverTrumper indulging your whimsical #NeverTrump impulses...

Anyone believing there isn’t or wasn’t a “dime’s worth of difference” between Hillary and Cruz (or Rubio, Walker, Jindal or Fiorina for that matter) is a fool.

Ted Cruz had zero chance in the general election. With his support for things like TPP—not to mention selling out to the GOPe—he had a complete inability to expand support beyond his narrow base, and into the White working class, such as in the battleground states that Trump won.

But you already knew that...
