Two men were caught on video launching avocados at a Bronx bodega worker breaking the mans jaw with the succulent fruit. The men went on the wild fruit-slinging spree in the Stadium Gourmet Deli near Yankee Stadium after an argument about their food order at about 4:45 p.m. on May 29, according to police. After being viciously pelted with both avocados and bananas, the 21-year-old bodega clerk was taken to Lincoln Hospital. The victim suffered cuts and fractures to his face as well as a broken jaw. Cops were looking for the two suspects Tuesday night.

I’ve never heard avocado described as succulent.
I think the first guy was on “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air”.
Of course, he could be the son of “The Fresh Prince of Bill Ayers”.
Try having vending machines in places where these animals frequent.
All along 3rd avenue in BKLN pre Giuliani.
Great spots but I always wondered when the hammer was going to fall filling them up and taking the money out.
Guess God was with me.
a : full of juice : juicy
b : moist and tasty
Half them. Then, a little salt, a little pepper and a generous squeeze of lemon juice and very very succulent. Grew up eating them a cpl times a week like that.
I don’t know, but those Bronx guys are TOUGH! Do the Yankees need a left-handed pitcher, by any chance? /s;)
Holy crap. If they WEREN’T ripe, that’d be like slinging a baseball at the guy full speed from 6’ away!
Wonder what led up to that? One of them looks like he could have needed a Ramadan snack.
I've never heard of an avocado that was described as edible. My wife has two trees, and she thinks they taste like ambrosia. I think they taste like Elmer's Wood Glue.
Where’s a registered, recently cleaned, previously loaded, privately held gun when you need one?
That was awful. They probably wanted free food or began eating inside the store, with no sign of intending to pay.
The temerity of that storeowner, expecting them to pay for what their taking!
Those two need to pay with their own broken facial bones.
A jaw for a jaw.
Ive never heard avocado described as succulent.
I agree...I don’t believe that avocado trees are succulent plants—plants that absorb water in leaves to be drought tolerant...like cacti.
However, people may say avocados are succulent fruit meaning means “juicy” and is often used to describe food. Given their exterior, they are surprisingly moist and juicy :)
You’ll never work for Jeb Bush, mister!
They grow well in the same climate as oranges, FWIW.
I had a doberman that went crazy for them. One would fall from the tree and he would inhale it like it was the antidote
They’re toxic to birds because of the persin in them.
Standing by to see what sort of regulation the city’s going to place on avocados...to get a permit you have to first prove you need one; must be carried in a locked bushel basket with the pit stored separately; etc...
I always loved avocados. When they are not yet ripe, they do not taste good at all, but when they are ripe and soft, they are heavenly. They should be consumed plain, or with a bit of salt.
Are you waiting for the avocados to fully ripen?
Unfortunately, I developed an allergy to avocados. I can’t even eat something that has touched an avocado.
They need to put these wild animals in a cage to see if they can be tamed.
If Obama had a son...
