Jennifer Lawrence survived a scary situation on Saturday that put her life at risk when the private jet she was on was forced to make an emergency landing due to engine failure.

The 26-year-old Oscar-winning actress was travelling on a flight that had taken off from her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky when one of the engines shut down at 31,000 feet.

The pilot seemed to have things under control as he headed the plane to an emergency landing in Buffalo, New York. But then, in a harrowing event that echoed the real life story told in the recent Warner Bros. movie Sully, the second engine shut down.

I agree, EEE.

I saw Winter’s Bone early on because I love John Hawkes, walked away a life-long Jennifer Lawrence fan. Stunning performance.

And Ivanka Trump rides coach on a public plane and she gets harassed by who else? Liberals!!

I think that is incredible that she does that ... given how much money she has. She has been raised well.

No reason not to. The FAA will investigate so I doubt the pilot(s) will lie about it.

Excellent piloting.
Jennifer appears to be somewhat of a hypocrite flying around in her private jet:

She’s lucky. I worked at American Airlines flight academy (Flight Safety) when Thurman Munson was taking lessons in the Cessna Citation CPT trainer and simulator.

He was not so lucky when trouble hit...

I flew small planes until I learned that the odds were 1 in 500 for a serious if not fatal crash.

Is the jet actually hers? Or is it one of those time share deals?

She does seem to have a way of getting through dangerous situations unhurt.

Sure $150 to fly “on” a private jet.

But how much does it cost to fly “in” the thing?

But do we believe both engines failed in flight, considering Hollywood stories are often hyped up.
= = = = = = = = = = = =

If it were 1940ish, Mickey Rooney, Judy Garland & co would be shouting...

“Lets do a play”

Excellent piloting.

I'd withhold judgment until it's revealed if it was a mechanical issue or fuel exhaustion...

I was about to say...both engines go?

Usually only one reason for that, unless there’s a flock of seagulls in the area...

When both engines shut down, it’s usually fuel starvation or bad fuel. Bad fuel usually causes engine failure early in the flight. Somebody messed up.

"Do liberals think it will get so hot the earth will catch fire and melt, or explode, or vaporize"

Yes! In 2009, AlGore was educating us plebes on the science of geothermal energy, at a scientific forum known as the Tonight Show, and he stated the earth was several million degrees at 2 kilometers down.

I've always been perplexed by the notion that more heat equals more bad weather. In the one weather class I did take, the only thing I remember is that differences in temperature and pressure cause bad weather - its why spring and fall can have such bad storms, and even a summer thunderstorm is the result of a cold front colliding with hot air.

But the greenies keep telling us the poles are 'warming faster than the rest of the planet'. Well, wouldn't that reduce the temperature gradient? Resulting in milder weather?

I'm sure it was chartered.
