Judiciary Dem asks GOP chairman to invite Trump to testify in public
The Hill ^ | June 9, 2017 | Cristina Marcos

After President Trump said Friday he is “100 percent” willing to testify under oath about the events that led to firing James Comey as FBI director, a House Democrat wants to take him up on it.

Within hours of Trump’s statement at a press conference in the White House Rose Garden, Rep. Luis Gutierrez

(D-Ill.) called on House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte

(R-Va.) to invite the president before their panel.

The dems/msm will NEVER let it go, even though IT is nothing.

Trump almost always feels the need to vindicate himself even though there’s no reason and the dems jump on his statements and keep this thing alive.

I was sure there wasn’t going to be a civil war if Trump won.

Now I dont know.

-- ... why don't Republicans start looking into some of these Democrats ties to Russia? --

The Republicans have the same target the DEMs do. They are working to take Trump out. I have yet to hear a full-throated defense of Trump, on any tidbit, from ANY Congressman.

Congress and the press are peers when it comes to dishonesty. Notice the GOP senators patting Comey on the back yesterday, admiring his honesty? They've picked sides already.

I think you just nailed his problem, he doesn’t really know the power of the Presidency...it’s not that he can’t and it’s not that he is afraid to, I think it’s he doesn’t realize it yet...

Today when he was talking AT the media, you could tell he was angry, and he does not like them, can’t blame him, they have tried to destroy his family, business and friends...

I think a letter to President Trump is what is in order...

This is stupid. Congress should have their paychecks docked for any more of these hearings. STOP using the taxpayers money for this fake stuff.

And like clockwork, today, after the RATS have their Russia candy taken away, the RINOs take over and step up the attack.

I have to believe there are fantastic pro-Trump candidates to replace all these RINOs in the primaries, but with Romney’s niece running the RNC, who knows.

KellyAnne knows. Polling is her life and love.

— I was rather hoping Sessions would hand down enough indictments to keep the MenSeekingMen far too occupied to have time build the 24/7 month-long `Trump finally assents to testifying under oath after pressured regarding Comey remarks and Russian hacking of the election.’ —

There is no good way to keep the press preoccupied with irrelevancies. Consider that Comey gave Trump a clean bill yesterday. The press report following was “Trump IS NOW under investigation for crimes.”
>

Personally, I could care less if the press were occupied, or not. What I want to see is a return of ‘Equal Under the Law’. Unfortunately, someone would need to wake Sessions ans spoon-feed him the indictments....maybe change his, and McStain’s, Depends.

I have yet to see any fire-in-the-belly types ‘hired’ by the (R); more interested in LOOKING moral/high-ground than in the trenches, doing their job.

Plus, President Trump has the power to authorize any investigation into any democrat shenanigans at any time, so if they keep testing his mettle he may just push for the justice department and the FBI to go whole hog into the DNC hack, the Benghazi massacre and cover-up, the bathroom server mess, the classified emails being scattered around on various unsecured devices in the hands of leftists without proper security clearances, and more.

He can let the democrats know that his days of playing defense are over and he’s going on offense with the intent on sending each and every one of those swamp dwellers to prison for life.

They clearly didn’t listen to what he said- answering a question about Spec. Counsel Mueller talking with him under oath. THAT was what he said he would 100% be willing to do and say exactly what he just told the reporter.

He did NOT say he would go and sit in front of House or Senate people (judiciary and otherwise) like some form of “made up” neo-impeachment hearing of “he said, she said, he said”.

Executive privilege would apply to such an request. It will not happen.

Do you not understand— the FReeper is commenting on the actual post, and the jackasses who think they can force trump to come and be under oath to them.

You posted the article— people respond to the post. That’s how it works here. Capice’?

Put the letter together. Have Freepers “sign” by posting “signed” from their profile replies. Then—compile the entire thread as a internet link- and sent it with a explanatory fore-word laying out the premise.

But recognize this is trump doing what he is— what other “regal” type PR people have never done. Taking it direct to idiot media types. Problem is he’s firing from the hip- and the percentages for bullseye are never good from that firing position.

Problem with his taking this reporter’s bait is it gives them cause to russia russia russia for the next month.

They have reached the saturation level. People will just start ignoring that input, essentially out of boredom.

Congress has no jurisdiction to call the president to a hearing. None. They could subpoena him till the cows come home.

OTOH, Trump could order a nuclear strike.

Congress and the press are peers when it comes to dishonesty. Notice the GOP senators patting Comey on the back yesterday, admiring his honesty? They've picked sides already.

No one except Rush has repeatedly pointed out that the Party leadership knew weeks ago that Trump was not a target and if they knew then the MSM knew.

Every Senator on that committee already knew that Trump was never under investigation, so why did they not say so?

Have you heard any GOP in the leadership, voice any concern whatsoever that Mueller who is conflicted, looking into a former employee and long time friend?

The one solace I have is that polling has disappeared, which means the news (for us) is good.

Grassley mentioned it about three weeks ago. Not quite as definite as Comey, but pretty clear.

But you are right. Even the Senators that were sort of shocked (Rubio for example) showed tepid concern about the public being willfully kept in the dark, with the senate and House agreement.

Once you realize that the House and Senate are complicit with, in collusion with the FBI to keep the public in the dark, it makes sense that they are not going to be critical of keeping the public in the dark.

Congress is in collusion with the FBI and the press in gas-lighting the public.
