Then theres Cat People of Melbourne, an Australian rescue group that recently decided to turn the adorable approach on its head. Instead of emphasizing the cuddly or intelligent nature of one slender black feline in its custody, director Gina Brett wrote an adoption profile that made him sound downright nasty.
Mr. Biggles (also known as Lord Bigglesworth) is an utter utter utter bastard, Brett wrote. Mr. Biggles is a despot and dictator, he will let you know he is not happy, which is often because things are often just not up to his high standards.
She went on: Mr. Biggles likes his cuddles on his terms, and will sit in your lap when he decides its time. If the stroking is not up to his standards, he will nip you.

Mr Biggles refused to be pussy- whipped
Mr Biggles sounds exactly like my 2 cats.
Guess I’ll have to throw them out of my house.
Where are you Rocky? Where are you Dusty? Here kitty, kitty, kitty....
How do you get a cat to stop nipping hard?
I know someone who just got a rescue cat and the cat nips hard enough to hurt but no broken skin, yet.
What were the unprintable names?
I guess “bastard” is unprintable these days in some quarters, since approaching half the population is getting to meet the description and more in some segments...
My brother adopted a feral cat as a kitten. Completely out of control for the first week, but he gradually came around. It lived with bro for 4 years or so, then just walked away and never returned.
He was as affectionate and loyal as any regular cat, but did have a bit of an attitude towards large dogs. It was funny to watch him taunting the neighbour’s GSD, then disappearing long enough for the dog to forget about the cat. Attacks from nowhere were his forte’.
I immediately rebuke them with a loud, "No! We don't bite people!" This may be accompanied by a finger snap on the nose, which is not harmful but gives a smart. Eventually, my cats don't need a finger snap. Just the loud rebuke. They needed to learn how hard an "acceptable" nip is, when it's just gently taking your finger in their mouth and not biting down, to get your attention vs. a hard bite.
Of course there is that old joke: “Cats are just teeny little women in fur coats.” I would never laugh at that though.
We have a (neutered) male that sometimes gets carried away & bites. My SO’s technique is to pull away his hand & very dramatically cry out in pain. Then he refuses to pet the cat for a while. Milo (the cat) seems to realize that he was too rough & tries to make up for it. At least until he gets carried away again...
I call all my cats unprintable names. That’s part of the fun.
I think his collar is too tight.
One of my cats, Cookie, will nip at the back of one’s leg if they raise their voice to spouse (or anybody else). Unfortunately, our cats now have to live in a kitty compound in the back yard that keeps them safe from the urban coyotes that prowl the neighborhood, can’t have them in the house now for medical reasons. So I don’t get nipped anymore when I’m out there feeding or petting them. But she will not tolerate any temper expressed by anyone without circling behind for a nip or two on the calf.
Thanks. I’ll pass it on.
Andy always refers to me as "The Old Broad." Merciless...
All cats have that "Lord Bigglesworth genome," but we have only been "blessed" with one who was truly a mean cat, and even she probably would have been okay had her "original humans" not been actually abusive.

You do what they want the first time they tell you. Cats, like any good manager, practice progressive discipline. First they ask, then they tell. If you continue to ignore them, they have to get your attention.
Once you understand who is in charge, things should get better.
Could be some prejudice against BLACK cats motivating this Australian lady's critique of him. I never understood the logic behind the fear of black cats.
My previous cat Squeek would gently bite me and I'd say "Ow" and she would stop and I would too.........She was the best.
