My Dad passed away today after his six-week battle with lung cancer. I hope to see him again in Heaven. His last words to me, sent in a text yesterday, were “still fighting.”
He was to be admitted to the hospital yesterday afternoon, due to extreme weakness and dehydration. However, he collapsed at the Anne Arundel medical center. He briefly lost his pulse, but was resuscitated and immediately rushed to the hospital. He never regained consciousness, but before he collapsed, he kept repeating that he did not want extreme measures to keep him alive, so we respected his wishes. He passed away today, about 24 hours after he collapsed.
We pray to God for the outcomes that we want, but sometimes, sadly, the answer is no. He does things in His own way. Now Dad is with Him.

My heart joins you in prayer and love. May God completely fill and surround you and your father with his loving spirit. And may you feel the peace and strength of God and your father. I am terrible at words but know I send all of my deepest and most sincere condolences. Many hugs times more.

I am sorry for your loss. It’s heaven’s gain but still, we want the ones we love beside us. I believe you will be reunited in heaven.

I’m so sorry. Such a long hard haul, those six weeks. Your father had you by his side every moment. Perhaps God answered the prayers and gave him mercy from his suffering. God does not inflict suffering, we are organic beings on the wrong side of Paradise. Some day we will be on the right side of it and I’m sure there you will be reunited with your father.
Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.
For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.

But I look forward to seeing him and mom in heaven.
You will forever miss him, that's normal.
My Dad has been gone for nearly 30 years and I still miss him. Peace be upon you and your family.

Heavenly Father, You are God Everlasting. We lift TSR’s family in prayer. They definitely had a difficult time, but knowing the father knew Jesus as his Savior gives the family reassurance of having a grand reunion in heaven. We thank You for TSR’s testament to his father’s fight to live. We pray that through his will to live and also his passing, others may come to know the saving Grace of Your Son Jesus. The good part is that you know you won’t sorrow as others do who have no hope because you WILL see him again. What an awesome and wonderful thing to know you will have all eternity together to praise our Lord and Savior!
Praise God that your Dad now has a perfect and healthy body and will replace earthy suffering with eternal rejoicing.
