Melania says she'll pray every day for hospitalized children following Papal meeting – as she reveals she will be the first Catholic to live in the White House since the Kennedys

When Melania Trump recited The Lord's Prayer before a Melbourne, Florida presidential rally in February, the Internet went hog wild.

Now we know one reason why the first lady began with 'Let us pray' and 'Our Father who art in heaven' when she introduced the president that evening: She's a practicing Roman Catholic.

Her spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham confirmed that to DailyMail.com on Wednesday, hours after Pope Francis blessed a rosary for her at the Vatican.

The last Catholics to live in the White House were John F. Kennedy and his wife Jackie. Melania and her son Barron will move to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue over the summer.

Mrs. Trump did more than just show up for a Papal audience.

She spent time in prayer at the Vatican-affiliated Bambin Gesù (Baby Jesus) Hospital, and laid flowers at the feet of a statue of the Madonna.

As long as Melania herself has not been divorced and remarried she is more than welcome to receive ALL sacraments of the church!!! SHE can be a practicing Catholic if she chose to be!!!

I must admit the photos of Ivanka and Melania looking at the Pontiff on the UK website are interesting, I wonder if they are analyzing him, it is a look of not love but perhaps being perplexing or trying to understand him. In many of the photos the Pontiff does not look happy. I find those telling....

I've been married twice...well sort of.

My first was to a wannabee nun. she should have gone to convent because she was worthless as a wife. Not holy or fun...but clearly a novice.

Couldn't leave her mother.

My second wife was a sophisticated lesbian who sought me as a vehicle to the easy suburban NYC life.

I would travel and make lots of money...and she would do whatever lying lesbians who seek the easy convention life do.

I thought my second wife was my best friend for many years during and after our marriage.

But then I learned she was a lesbian who had entered into the marital contract dishonestly.

She lied to me about everything.

I looked it up and before the communists took over, Slovenia was heavily Catholic.

I’m sure the symbolism resonates with her and she probably gad mother or grandparents who had been Catholic.

I am very sorry to hear that.

So many folks think it’s always the man. I think there are good men out there, and I think they want to do right by women, particularly their woman.

There’s a satisfaction knowing you’re pleasing the person you care about. It’s so hard for a man to see it when the woman doesn’t reciprocate. You want to think the best, so you start overlooking things. By the end, you’ve sold your soul down the river and you have a lot of ground to make up afterwards.

I’m far from perfect. I try to be a good guy. I do see my flaws. Those flaws were me going in and I never hid them. I’m very frank about my positives and negatives. I find no benefit of lying to people. Tell it like it is, and if they stick around fine. You should have a good basis for a relationship.

Well, after an 18 year relationship and a 23 year relationship, perhaps that’s not the right way to go about things. LOL

You and I are believers.

My life has been really difficult, but it is easier now...heading into the last roundup (I think;-).

I am most certainly a difficult marital partner, though I did try to do my best.

Like you, I did try to do the honorable thing always.

Life is like Navy SEAL selection, except there is no bell for quitting for the good guys.

And they don't tell you about the fricking sharks. Yes, there are sharks.

I’m going to have to start getting more exercise.

My mind is okay, although some folks here are suspicious. Particularly the ones who disagree with me.

I’m a firm believer that you can extend your life and enjoyable years considerably, by increasing your exercise.

We need to do enough to have to take deep breaths for a half hour or so daily.

This keeps the body in shape, and the increased blood flow is said to keep the mind in shape also.

Don’t let them take you out not kicking!

I finally got to see the footage of Melania with the Pope. That woman is as beautiful as Sophia Loren - one of my idols. Dressed in Italian black, she looked straight out of Sophia’s great Italian movies of the 60s. She also has a little bit of Claudia Cardinale as well.
