Melania says she'll pray every day for hospitalized children following Papal meeting as she reveals she will be the first Catholic to live in the White House since the Kennedys
When Melania Trump recited The Lord's Prayer before a Melbourne, Florida presidential rally in February, the Internet went hog wild.
Now we know one reason why the first lady began with 'Let us pray' and 'Our Father who art in heaven' when she introduced the president that evening: She's a practicing Roman Catholic.
Her spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham confirmed that to DailyMail.com on Wednesday, hours after Pope Francis blessed a rosary for her at the Vatican.
The last Catholics to live in the White House were John F. Kennedy and his wife Jackie. Melania and her son Barron will move to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue over the summer.
Mrs. Trump did more than just show up for a Papal audience.
She spent time in prayer at the Vatican-affiliated Bambin Gesù (Baby Jesus) Hospital, and laid flowers at the feet of a statue of the Madonna.

Uh oh! Anti-Catholic posts incoming!!!
He really hit the ball out of the park with his wife.
She's a keeper and will be a great FLOTUS.
I know because I occupy the opposite end of the spectrum.
I have allowed my softness of heart to override my judgment of people...particularly wives.;-)
Melania needs to pray that her man lays of the McDonalds fries.
is that you Nanny Moochelle?
I didn’t know Melania was a Catholic. I wonder if she is a traditional practicing Catholic, or the typical off-and-on Catholic of our day.
And that second scoop of ice cream.
I dunno. Where was his judgement when he got involved with Marla Maples?
CNN had a segment today on Melania where the newsreader and two guests gushed approvingly over the First Lady’s fashion sensibilities and overall demeanor overseas.
The Donald needs to stay alive and healthy in order to wreak havoc on the left. He is not a tired old man just yet.
Really, who cares? Was a long time ago. None of our business anyway.
I don’t really care. My comment was in response to a previous post.
The truth is judgement is acquired through experience, which sometimes means making big mistakes.
What is the reason for your post?
They attend an Episcopal church near their home in MarAlago : Bethesda by The Sea.
She took the wife of Japanese Abe to visit it when they visited They were married there
LOL
I married two wonderful women.
Exposure to me didn’t seem to improve them.
LOL
When we voted in Trump, we got a two-fer.
He’s great.
His wife is great.
Together they’ll make American great again.
On this trip alone, I think the standing of the United States was elevated two or three hundred percent of what it was six months ago.
People may not agree with Trump, but he is going to convince them he’s a smart guy and not nearly the buffoon the media tried to pass him off as being.
“I didnt know Melania was a Catholic. I wonder if she is a traditional practicing Catholic, or the typical off-and-on Catholic of our day.”
Well, she married a twice divorced non-Catholic.
And had Bill and Hill at her wedding.
I think she’s a believer and her nominal family background from Europe is Catholic, but I don’t know.
Was her country communist when she was born?
But I'll take whatever I can get from a presidential spouse at this point. LOL.
She's more of a Catholic than this fraud of a Pope.
