Yes, actually they have. The Katrina-era levee that failed was built as a compromise as to what the city would accept, and what the Corps of Engineers recommended. And the difference is exactly what caused the levee failure(s). IOW, the residents of NO "did it to themselves".

One of the more famous Mardi Gras organizations, the Zulu Aid and Pleasure Club, is for all purposes a racially-segregated group that only allows white people (celebrities, mostly) to ride in its parade *in blackface*. Strangely, this group's parade route (which is notorious for meandering past members' family homes and such) has passed through Lee Circle every year for as long as I can remember. Nobody seemed to be offended by the General's statue.

And they take their shopping with them, Whites that are still left don’t shop in the Memphis to any extent, to dangerous. Some neighborhoods you don’t go into any time of day or night, not even ARMED!

There should be a “STUPIDEST MAYOR IN THE COUNTRY” contest with write ups on each entry. Amoung New York City, Baltimore, Houston, New Orleans, Chicago, LA, San Fran, and a dozen others. Write ups should be posted on FR, and votes counted with the winner awarded a special prize...like a bronzed inner-city garbage can.
