Three Republicans joined Senate Democrats on Wednesday to reject an effort to overturn an Obama administration rule limiting methane emissions from oil and natural gas drilling.
Only 49 senators voted to move forward with debate on legislation to undo the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) rule, short of the 51 votes needed.
Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Susan Collins (R-Maine) and John McCain (R-Ariz.) joined all 48 members of the Democratic caucus in rejecting the resolution under the Congressional Review Act (CRA).
Graham and Collins had previously publicized their plans to vote against the legislation. But McCains vote came as a surprise.
McCain said that he voted against the resolution because he fears that it would have prevented the BLM from writing an improved regulation in the future.
While I am concerned that the BLM rule may be onerous, passage of the resolution would have prevented the federal government, under any administration, from issuing a rule that is similar, according to the plain reading of the Congressional Review Act, he said in a statement.

More specific criticism of his position would sell better to the political public than the oh so yummy seeming character assassination here.
“HOW THE #### DO THEY WIN THEIR PRIMARIES?!?!”
For McCain it was by outspending his challenger 21,600,000 to 1, 800,000
Payback for firing deep state comey.
Why are we even voting for Republican Senators, if these traitors are going to back-stab Americans at every turn?
LOL!
Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Susan Collins (R-Maine) and John McCain (R-Ariz.), the new three stooges.
Voters who vote by the volume of campaign yack deserve what they voted for.
The Human Condition....sad to say.
McCain, Graham and Collins, Democrats in R jerseys.
Citizens of Arizona, Maine and South Carolina: You must perform your patriotic duty to America by removing these people from their positions of power and trust.
YES!!!!
“...Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Susan Collins (R-Maine) and John McCain (R-Ariz.), the new three stooges.....”
Yep.
McLame just needs to die of old age. I know, that’s an awful thing to say but he needs to go and that’s about the only way we’re ever gonna get rid of this traitor.
Lady Linda needs to be primaried out.
Collins? Maine just needs to find a bigger cesspool to put that turd in.
Compromised and controlled by the dems.
The three RATS posing as Republicans...No surprise here.
Maybe this is the actual ‘safety valve’ that UniParty Paul Ryan was talking about in the senate... Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Susan Collins (R-Maine) and John McCain (R-Ariz.) [and maybe a couple more]
I voted against McCain two primaries ago. I voted against him in both the primary and the general election this time. But it doesn’t matter.
McCain has tons of cash and fights against any conservative with a viciousness he never exhibits when “engaging his colleagues” on the left. And McFlake is no improvement. But I’m convinced McStain will die in office, even if he lives to 104...
The stupid party.
How? Easy.
Put on a country twang, or southern drawl in your speeches.
Recite some bible verses.
Put a photo of Reagan in your ads.
Play country music at your rallies.
Pose with a gun for photos.
Constantly thank veterans or mention how you or your dad, or you kid was or is in the military.
Avoid making votes that aren’t conservative until after the election.
Works every time. Just see how many times it happens next year.
Exhibit A are the voters that send them there. Both Graham and McDoppy could have been out last year and several times before.
Yes he is. Even though he repeatedly votes to obstruct Republicans, and could as well be a Democrat, he does more damage by remaining in the republican party. It’s like a termite, it does more damage from within than a cockroach which you can see. McCain is a termite.
The usual subjects...LIB repub lunatics...and losers.
