It's here, folks!
Police have set aside the barricades in Lee Square, and things are heating up.
There is no “Lee Square.”
Idiots.
That’s a good point. I stand corrected.
Properly couched the questions is: should conservatives support people who are trying to destroy America today, or support people who still support the failed attempt 150 years ago to keep slavery legal.
Hmmmmm....I say neither.
Someone is going to get killed in New Orleans over these monuments and the blood will be square on the hands of the Mayor.
This has been duly noted earlier in the post; I was quickly typing because things were developing rapidly as I did.
The city will never enforce the laws against the mayor’s friends and supporters.
Communist/Fascists have to have a boogieman to keep the revolution and the world burning.
Good point Charles.
One of the reasons that leftist fascist AntiFa protesters are showing up here is that it is easy to tear down symbols of the past — any past. People are reluctant to tie themselves to the old and whatever negative items can be linked to it.
Whatever these creeps are protesting — I will say a good word for it on the forum < /churchill >
The great accident of the end of the civil war was the Grant / Lee attitudes and legacy of Appomattox. Each side was treated with honor. Each side soldiers were considered honorable men fighting on an honorable cause. Four plus years of death had to be put behind us.
I really doubt those who wish to keep the monuments that represent the Confederacy during the time of the Civil War support any idea at all of keeping slavery legal...
Please show me any indication anyone who wishes to preserve the monuments of an important part of American history from being decimated today who has shown an interest in legalized slavery...
Exactly...Very good post.....
Ah. The old ‘slavery wasn’t the cause of the war between the states’ play.
You win.
What happens when all the confederate monuments get toppled?- then it’s on to the evil white man monuments to the American Revolution, then WWI/WWII, Christian and Jewish sites and every other representation of the American legacy. This is no different than the islamists destroying antiquities across Afghanistan and Iraq, or the Nazis tearing down everything Jewish.
Communist/Fascists have to have a boogieman to keep the revolution and the world burning.

Totalitarian leftist fascists kill and enslave.
Nothing to win...
You had no game....
Absolutely in favor or an honest and open discussion of history. Monuments, though, are another subject.
I for one would like to see the statue of Lenin in Portland (or is it Seattle) nuked.
8~)
Mr. Mercat has promised never to erect a statue to me. We do have a door stop in the shape of a dachshund what we will use for our dog’s grave.
Antifa is trying to do what the North did not do at the end of the Civil War which was to end ALL ‘states’ rights’ which were remaining after the Civil War.
The Southern symbols of ‘states’ rights’ are being eliminated which started again with the South Carolina Confederate flag under Obama.
Antifa is supportive of a large federal government which will crush individual rights and merge with the NWO,
IMHO, protection of ‘individual rights’ through ‘states rights’ needs to be emphasized NOT Confederacy which like it or not, is representative only to ‘slavery’ to those educated under curriculum which has been designed for the last 50 years to create the upheaval which we are now witnessing.
I was living on Lee Circle in 1965 when I first read Atlas Shrugged.
The St Charles Hotel, just down the street from Lee Circle is often mentioned as the hotel that inspired Arthur Hailey's book, Hotel
I hate that term. It delegitimizes anyone who strives to preserve our language by merely helping others to correct their errors in usage.
It pains me to see conservatives actually defending illiteracy - which is a crime puposefully committed against us by the deep left.
No, they don’t.
Things aren’t going to get bad until nightfall.
