RUSH: We welcome back to the program the vice president of the United States, Mike Pence.(snip)
RUSH: If this is what happens, Mr. Vice President, why vote Republican? What is the point of voting Republican if the Democrats are gonna continue to win practically 95% of their objectives, such as in this last budget deal?
THE VICE PRESIDENT: Well, look, respectfully, Rush, I actually think this was, as the president said a little a while ago, I think this was actually a clear win for the American people. Look, youve had Washington, D.C., that has been, you know, paralyzed by gridlock and partisan infighting for many years, and in this new president you have someone who was able to bring people together and make a $21 billion increase in defense spending at a time of great challenge for Americas interests around the world. And thats a you know, he spoke about that today, surrounded by a lot of great members of the United States Air Force. And it was also a piece for years, Democrats in Washington insisted that any increase in defense spending would be matched with an increase in domestic spending.
So you gotta grow government at home if youre gonna, you know, invest in our national defense. This ended that. I mean, in a very real sense this was a game-changer because were just back to putting the safety, security, and the national defense of the American people first, and I think it sends, having just traveled around the Asian-Pacific representing the president over the last couple of weeks, I think this sends a decisive message to the world that under President Trumps leadership were gonna make the strongest military in history even stronger.

Trump has done a lot of good and I support him all the way.
But this was NOT a win. The Dems got EVERYTHING they wanted, we got NOTHING and the GOP controls the House and Senate and Presidency.
Its NOT a win.
Don’t try to disguise a jackass as a race horse. It only makes you look stupid - or worse.
The more I read about this, the more I’m wondering if Donald Trump is just a mad genius who put the Republicans in the House and Senate on the spot for the FY2018 budget. I’m sure they’re already getting a ton of crap from their constituents over this short-term bill, so they’re going to go into the FY2018 budget negotiations knowing full well that their jobs are really going to be on the line if they don’t give Trump most of what he’s seeking in his proposed FY2018 budget.
Now you are on to something. The GOP critters will go home this summer and get heat for this steaming pile. That should soften them up imensely for September.
POTUS really wasn’t in a position to go nuclear now on this spending bill what with health care, tax reform, confirmation hearings, north korea, etc. Trump can only fight so many nuclear wars at once.
Oh come on, let’s face it, Trump is not the most articulate person in the world (nor any given room he’s in) and really doesn’t speak contemporaneously very well at all. He’d say “Great” and “Yuge” several times, but I have serious doubts he even understands the federal budget process - too “in the weeds” for a CEO.
I should’ve known better. Just shaking my head
Which goes to my point. It appears the WH is afraid Limbaugh would have him for lunch.
Mind your language, please; there are ladies present.
Venues such as this (FR) reporting on the exchange between Limbaugh and Pence and comments about it solicited from its readers should be evaluated when assessing taking a political direction.
Personally I feel if a survey were ever taken asking this question :
Should political parties be banned in national elections ? Might yield some interesting results.
He really tried to polish that turd.
Making DC Great Again!
As usual.
We are in violent agreement.
I think we’re being told to shut up and eat the shit sandwich we’re being served. Just pretend it’s prime roast beef.
Yep...they have to do it before 2018.
First sentence...Damn! Someone send Pence a memo:
D.C. was/is not paralyzed by gridlock and partisan infighting. It's been rotten to the core with systemic corruption and collusion for decades by people with bad intent. Get it right Pence.
This is a factor I would say.
There are some very motivated and very vocal people on the other side
After listening to Mulvaney at today’s presser, I do think Trump and Republicans got a decent deal given the circumstances. I especially like when he said they got several hundred million for building a wall and then showed them pictures of the wall. The liberal media was stunned. I also liked that they got no new money for Obamacare bailouts and renewable energy. Shows you how the liberal media and the Dems distort things. Kelley was great also.
We got many things and so did they, but what they got was in what Obama signed in October of last year and its called a continuation.
The next republican plan of action will involve putting roofies in our drinks so we won’t know when they’re screwing us. We’ll just wake up afterward with a sick feeling and an uncomfortable level of pain.
Trump was not elected to be a conservative. He was elected to “get things done.” And he’s never been shy about being in favor of big government.
He thinks he can convince his base that if he does it, it’s good. So, the objective here is “deals.” There is no real ideological component to anything he does.
Do you honestly think that Trump knows any of the details in the bill he just signed?
Do you think he knows any of the details on the health insurance bill?
Granted, Rush is not going to press him on details, but Trump doesn’t have that politician’s rap down when defending the impossible. He’ll actually say, “I don’t think Planned Parenthood is funded by this” when the exact opposite is true.
Well, yeah, the bankers probably approved the 21 billion for more wars they conjure up.
