Monday on CNNs New Day, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), the vice chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, said that he foresees some conservatives coming out against a proposed government spending bill set to come out later this week.
I mean, look, money goes to Planned Parenthood as you said, Jordan said to host Chris Cuomo. Money continues to go to sanctuary cities but no money for the border wall. I think youre going to see a lot of conservatives be against this plan this week.

Those are some good points. I hope I didn’t express the idea he didn’t get anything. I haven’t looked at it close enough to say that.
Isn’t it strange this is the first official budget in years.
Bami didn’t want to run on a budget, he wanted money and lots of it for the Muslim Bros....this was how he got it, plus there is dirt on every Rep. and Senator...why do you think 3 Republicans have and are retiring so fast...this is their out card...
As soon as A.G. Sessions, and people involved get everything put together, that sucking sound everyone want’s to hear, it will take your hearing away for about 24 hours...
The Democrats now know that Trump caves under pressure and you can bet the farm that they will put on a great deal of pressure during budget talks.
This CR represents every thing trump campaigned against. It is a complete sellout of his base. I know it not the CR trump wanted but he needs to be seen fighting for his agenda not caving to the RINOs and Rats.
Well at least Sessions his doing his job and hopefully the new SC judge will turn out to be a conservative and not another Roberts. So I don't regret my support for Trump. I just hate to see him throw his presidency away. IMHO that's what will happen if he signs the CR. His base of supporters will turn on him and then he's finished.
Of course NK could change everything. But that is a very risky strategy.
We just see it differently. Trump has been stuck with Ryan, who hates him. Ryan also embodies the Uniparty’s disdain for the base. Trump would have gotten nowhere if his first move was to declare war on Ryan. His position would be exponentially worse today.
But Trump is still in a position to negotiate for his own budget, and he will. The political landscape by Nov ‘18 will look nothing like it does today. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.
We will see which way this plays out after Trump signs the CR. One of us is very wrong. I don’t blame Trump for the CR I blame Ryan, but if Trump signs it he owns it too. Trump should be smart enough to see this as a trap.
Trump has already said he’ll sign it. We won’t know how it plays out until the next election. A lot can happen/change between now and Nov ‘18.
I sure hope so.
They’ve gotten away with so much for so long.
People know it, and they’re sick of it.
Yes with NK, Iran and Russia being wild cards. However I don’t think we will need to wait for the election. I contend that Trump will lose a good deal of his supporters if the signs the CR. If I am right we should know a few days/weeks after he signs. And if I am right there is no way he will have the political capital to get the budget he wants. He will be a lame duck president in his first year in office.
The timetable of politics is not as condensed as you imagine it to be. I just visited a pro-Trump site with 6 million members. Guess who they’re furious with?
Ryan.
Trump’s presidency is not on the verge of destruction. The prophets of gloom and doom are premature on this. As I mentioned previously, Trump “ended his own campaign,” scores of times both during the primaries and the general.
But Hillary is not POTUS, and neither is Jeb.
History has lessons to teach, if anyone wants to learn.
This is a CR. The fiscal year doesn’t end until Sept, which is when we’ll get the first Trump budget.
Thanks for pointing that out Fantasywriter. HarleyLady27 probably made pretty much the same point, and it sailed right over my head.
I appreciate the distinction. Good point.
If a President is that terrified of his own party impeaching him, he frankly should resign. He can’t operate at that point.
Would Pence live under this alleged fear as well?
And what leverage will President Trump have in September that he does not possess now?
If ACA reform dies yet again, and his tax plan is still not passed, Dems will smell blood in the water and be thinking in terms of the 2018 mid-term.
Donald Trump is a 70 year old man who seemingly eats KFC for breakfast. I think at some point, he’s going to ask himself whether he really wants to spend what very well could be the last productive years of his life having a Secret Service agent follow him into a bathroom. I think it’s fairly obvious he hates this job, hates having to deal with Congress, hates the hostile press, and hates living in the White House.
I think W hated a lot about the job too. But W also seems like the type who could be happy with two hours on an elliptical followed by a nice nap. He also knew EXACTLY what he was getting into being a Bush and all.
There is a difference between bein “afraid” and “aware.”
Probably Pence wouldn’t be because he doesn’t present the threat Trump does.
D1, I made a mistake. Actually, the next fiscal year doesn’t start till Oct 1. Sept must be when Trump submits his budget to congress.
So sorry.
I realized the fiscal year ended around that time.
It’s okay.
:)
Very funny, but isn’t DDT a banned chemical?
Impeach President Trump for a government shutdown?
C'mon. That's not a "high crime and misdemeanor".
And it would likely cause a civil war...
