Congressional Republicans and Democrats forged a hard-won agreement Sunday night on a huge $1 trillion-plus spending bill that would fund the day-to-day operations of virtually every federal agency through September, denying President Donald Trump funding for a border wall and rejecting his cuts to popular domestic programs.
Aides to lawmakers involved in the talks announced the agreement after weeks of negotiations. It's expected to be made public Sunday night.
The catchall spending bill would be the first major piece of bipartisan legislation to advance during Trump's short tenure in the White House. While losing on the wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, Trump won a $15 billion down payment on his request to strengthen the military.
The measure funds the remainder of the 2017 budget year, rejecting cuts to popular domestic programs targeted by Trump...
The measure is assured of winning bipartisan support in votes this week; the House and Senate have until midnight Friday to pass the measure to avert a government shutdown. It's unclear how much support the measure will receive from GOP conservatives and how warmly it will be received by the White House...
Democratic votes will be needed to pass the measure even though Republicans control both the White House and Congress. The minority party has been actively involved in the talks, which appear headed to produce a lowest common denominator measure that won't look too much different than the deal that could have been struck on President Barack Obama's watch last year.
The measure also taps $68 million to reimburse New York City and other local governments for costs involved in protecting Trump Tower and other properties, a priority of lawmakers such as Rep. Nita Lowey, D-N.Y.

>> Trump will not sign it.
And I too believe that’s a possibility.
I am hearing that the “deal” specifically mentions no funds to be used on a wall. “Trump also will get $1.5 billion for border security, but it cant be used for the border wall or additional Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, according to one aide.”
The left is celebrating. Look under Planned Parenthood:

I believe the money can be used for border enforcement but not the wall. That’s why Chuck U Schumer was celebrating.
Looks like we’ll have to see how this plays out.
My guess/fear would be that Trump signs it. I hope I’m wrong, but I’m used to Republicans disappointing me, and Trump is stuck with a spineless Congress. They don’t need the Freedom Caucus for this, and I would think those folks would be opposed.
M God, you’re right.
The Republicans don’t work for you and me. They work for their donors.
They are stuffed pigs that need to be slaughtered (figuratively).
Amen. Kick it back.
Or they have Stockholm syndrome. Another factor is that whatever they do, they will be harshly criticized by the MSM. They believe that the MSM reflects the expectations of the American people, because that is the only voice they hear.
I think they would be braver if they would realize that the MSM is the enemy of the American people, and that the MSM lies. If they would do the right thing and ignore the MSM, the people would support them.
This is one reason I think that the representatives elected to national office should spend the bulk of their time in their home districts. This would help them to remain aware of constituents's concerns.
Dems get everything they want.
We get nothing and, I guess, are supposed to like it.
You’d think the left would be happy, but instead they are still attacking Trump supporters saying, “You got conned.” and mocking them and Trump for essentially the Democrats getting everything.
This bill was what would have been passed under Obama. I hope Ted, Rand, and the Freedom Caucus at least object.
Just days ago, Trump was on Twitter going after the Democrats for expecting funding for Obamacare, funding for Puerto Rico, and not funding the wall. Now it seems the Republicans have given them all that and Planned Parenthood and the EPA too.
Wish you were right, but he will sign it and then say that it is somehow "wonderful" IMO.
This shows everyone that its business as usual with these clowns against trump.
Trump needs to go to the people when it is voting time for these cretans
The Media and the 'Rats are crowing this morning.
Did the Repubs or Trump get anything other than more spending on the military?
Texas needs to GET OUT NOW...........#TEXIT
