Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her 91st birthday today. She is expected to spend the milestone at Windsor Castle.
Clarence House released a photo this morning of the Queen and Prince Charles in 1952 to mark the occasion.
Princess Elizabeth Alexandra Mary was born April 21, 1926, in Mayfair. She became presumptive heir to the throne 10 years later with the abdication of her uncle, King Edward VII. At 21, Queen Elizabeth married Prince Philip in a ceremony at Westminster Abbey.

God Bless Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II of Canada (and other countries). A woman of strong faith in Jesus the Christ, Her Lord! She maintains a quiet faith in Jesus that few public figures in any land, display.
Long may she reign!
>>Long may she reign!<<
Longest monarch reign in British history? IIRC.
Class act, she is.
Happy Birthday, Queen Elizabeth!
Thanks for posting this. My father was always proud to say he was born on the same day, so he’d be 91 today. Miss him much. God save the Queen.
Agreed! Cheers to a grand person.

Happy Birthday, Queen Elizabeth!
Yes, she pushed past her great great grandmother Victoria's 64-year mark last September. Now Louis XIV is looking over his shoulder as she inches up on his 72-year record. Since her mother lived to 101, odds are Louis' record as the longest reigning European monarch will fall sometime in 2024 as Trump is getting ready to leave office.
How nice that my granddaughter shares a birthday with Her Royal Majesty...
Protecting the Queen’s safety is a task that is gladly accepted by Police Squad. No matter how silly the idea of having a queen might be to us, as Americans, we must be gracious and considerate hosts.
Dignity personified .. God Save the Queen
God Bless her......may she enjoy many; many more birthdays.
#1 for Britain but still well down the list for all monarchies. Remarkably, she’s still only #43 for longevity of rule among all monarchs:

I remember when seeing coverage of Prince William’s wedding that afterward when they went out onto the palace balcony and waived to cheering subjects how ancient that kind of a ritual was that they are still doing in modern times and how it is still engrained in their culture. It’s one of the things that makes Britain be Britain. And it appears that those who want to do away with it over there are the equivalent of our Occupy Wall Street, The Resistance (and whatever other names the ultra left calls itself at any given time) types who want to do away with the Constitution. The Monarch *is* their Constitution, as weird as that may seem to us, that institution keeps Britain being Britain (and some moments caught on the microphone clearly demonstrate she is much more than just a figurehead). I fear what Charles may do if he takes the throne since he apparently wants to push “liberal” reforms. Brexit has probably prevented much of it, thankfully.
Ever seen The Queen change a car tyre? Unseen pictures of Her Majesty serving in World War II

Based upon your profile, you are a born and raised American and a retired CA ‘swivel servant’. I assume that you were not around during either Madison’s War or the War of Independence, so how exactly, does Her Majesty and family affect you in even the slightest way?
