THE tech giant is working on a job site called Google Hire, which could let prospective employers snoop your embarrassing search history.
IN THIS day and age, every boss is going to quickly Google a prospective employee before asking them to come in for an interview.
But now the technology giant is working on project called Google Hire, which The Sun reports will help employers learn perhaps a little bit too much about their new recruits. It will reportedly be a recruitment tool similar to LinkedIn — however, early reports suggest it will be available through your personal Google account. If that’s the case, it will link things like your search history and YouTube account with your job applications, laying it all bare for employers to see.

So typing “How to Kill Your Boss” in Google, probably isn’t a good idea.

That’s why I never log into my Google account unless I am updating a Youtube video. And why I do not use my real name on any of my internet postings or accounts.

Any Google-based rival to Linked In that exposed this to prospective employers would never be used! But it sounds silly on its face. Other You Tube users can’t see my browsing history either, nor can anyone in Google Hangouts. Why would this differ.
Not just that, but think about all of the tamer searches we might do that would expose anyone. Or, your spouse, kids, or friends use your computer. Imagine all of the searches that would lead a prospective employer to skip you, even though they were not allowed to know. And, presuming you know they had the info, then skipped you, how do they prove they did not do so because of this information. No way they can unring that bell. Is your recourse with Google or the discriminating employer? Bad enough that Google is collecting this and it is being used, but to make it a paid service and share this is simply wrong. Collecting it with ANY links to user identity is simply wrong and should be stopped. If Google can do so and ensure, truly ensure it is anonymous and source not ever identifiable, then fine. But I’m guessing it is otherwise open to anyone—government, lawyers, employers, etc. Can we put this genie back in a bottle?
At what point can we go through our boss’s search history?
It would be very interesting to see a rigorous fishing court case that would dredge out all the details about what Google has collected on us by name, social security number, address, IP address, MAC address, and other individual items that can be tracked to us. How they are linked and indexed. I bet the details of that would be sobering. Problem is, short of turning off the computer, phone, and tablet, we are caught, tracked, and documented. I don't think the laws protect us sufficiently, don't require disclosure, Google and others hide behind T&C that no one reads, can read, no understand. About the only time we'll know about or suspect what has been gathered about us is when it is used against us by an employer, by a court, by the government.

So my guess is that you’ll be able to find the search history of your boss too. If google thinks this is a good idea, they’re bigger idiots than I could have ever imagined.

It sounded like something Google would be very stupid to do, but Google has the data.
If it’s been Gator Mouth denied, however, that lends credence to the suspicion.
