The IRS manager most directly responsible for the targeting of tea party groups has demanded that her deposition for an upcoiming class action lawsuit related to the scandal be kept secret.
Lois Lerner, former head of the tax exempt department at the IRS, claims that she has received death threats in the past and fears that publicity surrounding her deposition will lead to similar threats.
Washington Times:
Mr. Lerner and Holly Paz, another figure from the IRS tea party targeting, told the judge they’ve already faced “harassment and death threats” before, and said they fear another media firestorm if their version of events from the tea party targeting were to become public.

I think you’re right. All this effort is nothing more than a tactical effort to cover a losing legal battle. She’s toast. And deservedly so.

We will need from you your tax returns since 1989, a list of all addresses and the names of your neighbors, with current contact information for each of your residences since 1983. We will need your high school transcripts and the names of each teacher you had in grades 1-12, and we have this short 484 page questionnaire that needs to be filled out and notarized by a notary each state that the IRS has impacted.

Absolutely no secrecy...but they can put her in the witness protection program.

No lawyer here. However, I’ve been deposed several times. My understanding then (and I assume now?) was transcripts of testimony given during deposition from both sides are available to both sides upon request. As to public release? Just not sure. And most attorneys would not want to compromise potential jurors should a trial commence down the road.

What Nixon was accused of doing is minor compared to the crimes committed by Obama and this woman.
Summon everyone who worked for her and everyone who took direction from her and make them testify. 5th Amendment doesn’t protect them from testifying as to what she directed them to do.
And, the 5th Amendment shouldn’t protect anyone from testifying about anything they did in their official capacity as a Gov’t employee, contractor, or elected official. They wield too much power and we no longer have the press watching them for us. That makes us permanent victims. The purpose of the U.S. Constitution is to PROTECT US FROM OUR GOVERNMENT! not to shield them from prosecution for their crimes!
To BLAZES with what that criminal wants! Was her salary paid for by US taxpayers? Then make her testimony public. For me, it is just THAT simple.
