Hitler used Mustard Gas on the troops, and developed even more toxic nerve agents for the Jews, which he tested in concentration camps. This isn’t news.
Spicer ineptly compared tactical use of chemical weapons and wasn’t probably thinking about gassing Jews.
Regardless, it was unnecessary. He’s apologized, Move on Nancy.
An aside: I saw a TV documentary on Hitler that traced his early roots. In the film, as a WWI trench soldier he had a large handlebar-like moustache. When he tried to don his mask in a mustard gas attack, the moustache caused it to leak and he was dosed and had a rather bad time of it. They implied that was the reason for his famous cropped moustache later....

The more I think about it, the more I’m upset about what Spicer said. My reason is different from the standard one. Sean Spicer was attempting to vilify Assad. He went way overboard. Assad protects Christians and minorities. To make a comparison and aver that Assad is worse than Hitler dismisses the slaughter non-muslims face at the hands of ISIS.
