Very close to my thoughts. I don’t know if it is good or bad for the senate, but it’s necessary. The only reason the rats didn’t blow it up is because the republics never challenged them by attempting to filibuster.
Republicans are weak. They are going to promise not to invoke the. Unclear option on future Supreme Court justices spto get Gorsuch through. They probably k ow Gorsuch is a squish and that’s why they are ok not asking Trump for another nominee. Republicans will blink first

I agree that the “nuclear option” is bad for the Senate. I favor unlimited debate with a 67-vote threshold for cloture.
I also favor appointment of Senators by the States and confirmation of qualified appointees without insisting that they favor killing babies or perverse intercourse. So, what I favor is very unlikely to come to pass.
I think a 51-vote Senate with Senators chosen by popular elections is a second House of Representatives, is completely superfluous, and I favor abolishing it.
