Men have become more aggressive in negotiating with women since the 2016 election, according to study from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Corinne Low, Wharton Business Economics and Public Policy professor, and doctoral student Jennie Huang didn't intend to test the effect Donald Trump's election had on the difference in men's and women's negotiating patterns when they conducted the test last fall. But that is what the data showed, the Washington Post reported.
"Not only was the communication more aggressive, it was also less effective," Low told the Post.
In a Battle of the Sexes game, 232 mostly University of Pennsylvania students were paired up, given $20 and asked to divide the money in a $15 to $5 split. If they couldn't work it out, neither would get a share, The Daily Pennsylvanian reported.
In sessions before the election, men were generally more chivalrous and less likely to use tougher strategies against their female partners. After the election, results suggested the "Trump election may have fractured community norms of civility and chiralry," the authors wrote.
"Our results are consistent with literature showing that broader political or world events can impact behavior such as generosity, fairness and reciprocity, cooperation, group bias and health insurance uptake," the authors wrote in the study paper.

Nope. Donald Trump gets the credit. The Bush’s and Obammy taught men how to be cowards.
Dont make me Mansplain this to you!
A bit of truth to this, look what leftist men are trying to do to Kelleyanne, Ivanka and Melania.
In sessions before the election it was earlier in the school term. In sessions after the election, it was later in the term and guys were running low on money saved up from those summer jobs; they had put up with a few more weeks of co-eds BS and games; and they were a few weeks further out from mommy & daddy's influences.
Really very poor technique by the so-called "researchers." I'd give them a C- at best on the assignment - too many fundamental mistakes.
yes antifa girlie men are more agressive toward Women for Trump since his election. They have targeted women with acts of violence, e.g. at the inauguration, where many women were gashed in the head, running with blood, as a result. These Orwelian fools at Wharton would never put that equation together...
Then the farm team can move up to the pros to fill the gap.
At least that's what my Magic 8-Ball says; and I've really come to rely on it.
Rubbish.
Correlation is not causation.
A "study" of 200+ college students is insignificant.
The study's "results" are nothing more than conjecture based on its authors' "feelings".
My opinion is that the money spent on this "study" was completely wasted. And I didn't spend anyone else's money to express my opinion.
Some of them like their hair pulled. Geeeeezzz.
Libs are mad President Trump loves women.
Did they control for the tranzmenz and the genderfluidz and the nonbinderariez and the intersexualz?
Unless they gave them a $15.00 bill and a $5.00 bill, couldn’t the parties just agree “I’ll give you $15.00 and you give me back $5.00?”
It’s not “negotiation” if the terms are fake.
Hey, Mari: Make me a sammich.

Another leftist idiot. Apparently was at Columbia too.
If you go to the original paper, via the link in th WaPo article, you’ll see that men treat women the same as men post-election, with little difference between liberal and conservative men.
I think this is a success story for gender equality!
The conclusion was a major stretch, at least from the brief description of the experimental methodology in the article.
It is possible (and hopefully true) that a more sophisticated experimental design was used than described. As described, a male/female pair had to negotiate over the sharing of twenty bucks, but if they couldn’t reach agreement, no one got paid.
Well, duh, I’d say “How about ten bucks each?” I wouldn’t be thinking, “Ten is fair, but now that Trump’s been elected, I want 12, or 15—she’s just a woman.”
The design must have been more subtle. But, even if it was, to attribute all changes to the election rather than seasonal effects or other experimental factors seems a big politically motivated leap.
What a stupid experiment. The students would do the split either way just to get the money, then take the $20 outside and split it evenly.
Whose money were they using?
I think the pull of gravity has gotten worse and has anyone checked out that monolith on Europa? I think it’s growing!!!
Meanwhile the number of marriages and children by aggressive men are increasing.
