Democrats in Montana have opposed a bill banning the use of foreign law in its state courts on the grounds that such legislation would target Muslims. Senate Bill 97, introduced by Keith Regier (R-Kalispell) bans the application of foreign law in Montana’s courts, with the debate particularly focused on Sharia Law, a form of Islamic law typically used in the Middle East.
Although the bill passed on party lines by 56-44, Democrats claimed it was designed to target Muslim communities.
“I think it sends a dangerous message to minority groups both here living in our state and wanting to come visit our state, just merely on the fact that you may be different,” said Rep. Shane Morigeau, D-Missoula, while debating the bill. “I truly believe this law is repugnant. I believe this is not who we are as Montanans.”

Leftist thought seems to be less of a set of principles, based on a moral code, than a current, or direction, that the adherents and followers are drawn towards. Much like a whirlpool or vortex, they allow themselves to be ever swept along towards an anti-capitalist, anti-individual rights, anti -constitutional, anti-American utopian vision.
They allow themselves to be compromised and controlled, to the point where they come to accept the unacceptable, to forgive the unforgivable, and finally reject all that they once stood for.
If they thought they once stood for human rights, they should honestly study the medieval and inhumane nature of Sharia law, and rethink their positions. But, to be a leftist, is to be incapable of that kind of rethinking, they are too far gone.
Even in Montana, we discover this kind of mental darkness. I am afraid for them and us.
Those who support using foreign laws in American courts are #FakeAmericans.
They have no place holding any office local, state or Federal.
Why not pass a law making the United States Flag, the official flag of Montana.

Courts are secular institutions. Under what set of circumstances would you follow any religions law, Jewish or Muslim, in a secular court?

Yes, but the law is not that simple. Suppose you and I enter into a as contract that states that the contract shall be governed under the laws of Italy. In nearly every state, the court will apply Italian law to resolve the dispute unless the law or the result violates an important policy of the state. If two ragheads agree by contract that disputes should be resolved by Sharia law, then it's their head to lose.

There is no way to implement Sharia Law without “respecting an establishment of religion”. Therefore, Sharia Law is incompatible with the Constitution of the United States.
