In a column published Thursday night, Krauthammer said the GOP, having failed to "repeal and replace" Obamacare, could make the attempt again in the coming months, but said people may reject the attempt because they've been conditioned to see healthcare as an entitlement.
"A broad national consensus is developing that health care is indeed a right," he wrote. "This is historically new. And it carries immense implications for the future. It suggests that we may be heading inexorably to a government-run, single-payer system. It's what Barack Obama once admitted he would have preferred but didn't think the country was ready for. It may be ready now."

Actually the Beltway stumblebums are steadily losing the consent of the governed.
Wow—What a Marxist and stupid, evil person he has become. Why can’t he understand that Socialism and Marxism is total slavery and gives the State total power over Life and Death, and we have had 100 years to see the millions who are killed and organ-trafficked under such evil, inhumane systems of control where there is no good and evil and useless eaters are always killed.
Get a brain, Krap!
Because one tribe willingly plays for another. Always.
Only whitey plays that. So, yeah, don't have high expectations that your third world neighbors will be wiping your elderly butt or funding ANY of your needs.
what an idiot...we have it already...called ObamaCare....and a blinding success it is indeed....
I agree with your assessment. Unless the republican party (including the President) are able to propose and pass healthcare legislation, which a "large" majority of Americans prefer over Obamacare, we will likely gravitate toward what will be sold as "affordable" single-payer-gov-med.
Once a Mondale ball-gargler, always a Mondale ball gargler.
Allowing citizens to believe Universal Health Care as a noble concept is the first mistake.
The Association of American Funeral Services will definitely profit from it.
Absolutely.
What most Americans want is the freedom to purchase the kind of healthcare they WANT and for indigents who can’t pay for medical care to be covered.
Give them that and they will be happy. This includes as Rand Paul pointed out, the ability to form cooperatives to purchase joint care, coverage for pre-existing conditions and the ability to purchase across state lines.
Do that and the free market will take care of everything.

No. Read his book.
I think his broader point is that the country now has a majority which believes it has a RIGHT to health care.
Not all support socialized medicine, but this notion that it’s a “right” is so deeply ingrained in people’s brains that I doubt it can be undone.
I guess the ratings must really be tanking for the likes of Krauthammer.
Looking for love in all the wrong places.
The Dr. has Demetia.
Communism Sucks!
I stopped listening to anything Kraphander said ages ago. The only thing he’s missing is the horn sprouting off his nose.
Old dope ought to just go away.
Yeah Charlie have we been grubbered again?
It's amazing how many people can't tell the difference. We used to talk about "knee-jerk liberals". There are way to many "knee-jerk conservatives" around here lately. C'mon people, read the article and engage your brain before posting.
We have 2 already, both already pre-paid. Medicare and Military, they are totally GOVERNMENT DICTATED. FIXED/RATIONED/RESTRICTED, right down to where the DoD MANDATES where you get your daily meds. What procedures, test, drugs you are allowed, no dental, vision or hearing unless you need surgery on the last 2. Or are Military Disability for it.
Cataract/cornea transplants are the exception or treating eye health. But if that Cataract doc gets it wrong and you end up with 20/60 & 20/30 vision with astigmatism you didn’t have before and Dry Eye Syndrome. YOU pay $5K for Lasix to fix what they botched up, doc sold as top notch, it is still a medical issue and they consider it cosmetic even if you will still need glasses.
With those implants comes Dry Eye Syndrome, some of it is covered some not. Need your lash line oil glands opened YOU pay for it. It impairs your vision badly. I ought to know 2 going on 3 yrs no glasses, ended up with Lasik which only makes Dry Eye Syndrome worse. Still no glasses, Othomologist is only one who can script them, he cancels your appointment From March to April 21, takes 2 weeks for the glasses to come in, IF the lab gets them right, seems the cutting tech does not check if they are. First they were in frames backwards. The driving pair are off quite a bit from the script and still has lesser astigmatism. TOTALLY FED UP all the FUBAR’s.
