"The Freedom Caucus will hurt the entire Republican agenda if they don't get on the team, & fast. We must fight them, & Dems, in 2018!" - Donald Trump
There is blame to be taken all around.
That said, I believe we are witnessing shock and frustration on the part of Trump and us Trump voters, that the Repubs do not have a plan ready and waiting, after 7 long years.
It’s shocking, isn’t it?
Trump gave the pols, who have passed Obamacare repeal bills for Obama’s signature. Where are those?
Rubber, meet road.
I'll repeat for you again. Trump's support is a coalition of sovereignty loving conservatives and centrists.
It took all of that coalition to win in WI, MI and PA.
You don't bad mouth a group that many in your coalition identifies with.
I blame them all. Trump met with the entire FC and made concessions. It was not good enough. Why did this food fight have to happen in public? Trump was very personally involved in pushing the bill along with Pence, Price, Mulvaney, and others on his team. How did we ever get to the point that the bill had to be pulled at the last minute, a humiliating defeat for Trump that was celebrated by the Dems?
Establishment Republicans want Trump to fail.
Remember the tale of the frog and scorpion. He can't change his basic nature.
He had NOBODY on board. He presented this abomination and told conservatives, "here's the plan, you have a binary choice. Take it or leave it".
BINARY CHOICE? Who the hell does he think he is? Nancy Pelosi?
The GOP is most comfortable and experienced in the institutional role of "minority party." It's not just that it doesn't know what to do with a majority, it does not want or mean to put into effect what it claims to stand for.
The function of the GOP is to create the illusion of opposition to government control. Without that illusion, the people realize that the vote doesn't matter in the long run.
“Ryan Care is a mistake of massive proportions.”
The Freedom caucus voted for Ryan for speaker. So they got what they wanted.
Ryan on cue, provides a K-street limp-wristed “pseudo-repeal”, and the “Freedom” caucus got to oppose it.
They are politicians. I agree with them on this vote, but I do not think that they care about “Freedom” more than they care about their own asses.
They think they will gain from opposing Trump. That’s why they did it, not because they want to repeal obamacare in my opinion.
Not only are the PR optics bad on the Ivanka appointment in the realms of nepotism, inexperience, ethics, legalism, but the inner workings of the president's top advisory group is going to be severely affected. No one can convince me differently.

Are you qualified to play 38DD chess?
If so, I’ll play. ;-)
Exhibit A is Paul Ryan. Managing and whipping Legislation is the responsibility of House Leadership. Period.
The Snake!
If this kind of crap frustrates him then he's in the wrong job.
That's b.s. Hannitty had FC members on every week, usually Jim Jordan or Mark Meadows and they were 100% on the Trump Train.
I'm part of Trump's base and I damned sure know who and what the FC is. I also damned well know who and what Paul Ryan is.
Excellent analysis Fenwick. What the FC did was embolden all the other GOPe factions to impede building the wall wall/infrastructure and tax relief. I don’t blame Trump for being angry. He has little support. The Republicans really are the stupid party.
“Its one thing I learned from the 2016 election is that the right is full of people that are as dumb as the left.”
Amen!!! I’m seeing today a ton of them coming out to prove just that in this very thread.
He said what he said. How do you spin this?
HUGE DITTOS!!!! This will turn the tide and make Trump a ONE TERM President. SO dissapointed and will tell him so.
Thanks. I just read the article. The price of an MRI of $267 amazed me as I paid just over $1,000 for said in 1990. I had it done before back surgery, and; back then there were three doctors who owned the machine. Medicare made a stink over their ownership a few years later. I am reminded of how obesity and diabetes are related. Yesterday, the wife and I spent 5 hours at Vanderbilt. I never cease to be amazed at the body shapes these days. Several women seemed to have large seat cushions attached to their fannies. Seriously, it is not funny, and; I pray these folks get sufficiently disturbed to motivate them. I feel that this nation has got to get back to the protestant work ethic, self reliance, plus much more self control.
