FBI DIRECTOR JAMES COMEY TRIED TO REVEAL RUSSIAN TAMPERING MONTHS BEFORE ELECTION
Newsweek ^ | 3/29/17 AT 5:43 PM | BY JOSH SAUL AND MAX KUTNER

FBI Director James Comey attempted to go public as early as the summer of 2016 with information on Russia’s campaign to influence the U.S. presidential election, but Obama administration officials blocked him from doing so, two sources with knowledge of the matter tell Newsweek.

Well before the Department of Homeland Security and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence accused the Russian government of tampering with the U.S. election in an October 7 statement, Comey pitched the idea of writing an op-ed about the Russian campaign during a meeting in the White House’s situation room in June or July.

“He had a draft of it or an outline. He held up a piece of paper in a meeting and said, ‘I want to go forward, what do people think of this?’” says a source with knowledge of the meeting, which included Secretary of State John Kerry, Attorney General Loretta Lynch, Department of Homeland Security secretary Jeh Johnson and the national security adviser Susan Rice.

The other national security officials didn’t like the idea, and White House officials thought the announcement should be a coordinated message backed by multiple agencies, the source says. “An op-ed doesn’t have the same stature, it comes from one person.”

If anything it was the anti “America First” dogma of the Left that cost Hillary the election. Why don’t these liberals try to get some credibility? I suggest they look at a random sample of 100,000 pro-Trump posts on this FreeRepublic website in the first 10 months of 2016 to see how much of it was pro-America vs. pro-Russia.

I voted for Trump. And I certainly do not trust Russia. And I think that Putin is too powerful and dictatorial to be a trusted ally and that Russia needs to have a real strong two party system soon in order to prevent them from going down their historical path of leadership by destructive tyrants.

So I finally got to read this after my ABP blocked about 40 ad tracking services.

It is a long and convoluted concoction that tries to suffice as being a clear, demonstrable fact that Comey blah, blah, blah. Conjecture, disjointed analysis and aggressive extrapolation on the merest of events. Very much political journalistic license going on here.

You get two reporters who have a jam session on ‘the story’ and talk to each other - it then becomes ‘sources’ say blah, blah, blah.

Another click-bait nothing burger.

For every election the Russians “hacked”, the US has meddled in three. No wait, we simply overthrew the governments.

This holier than thou Bullshit needs to be called out.

Why would 0vomit NOT want it investigated and revealed if the Russians were helping Trump? It only makes sense to squash the investigation if the Russians are helping the democrats.

The only thing I can think of is that he was keeping under wraps in case Trump won to do exactly what they are doing now.

They have to use different techniques. For example, when the screen pops up, the first thing you see is”Will Angelia Divorce?” In this way they can direct the internet user’s thoughts away from the real news.

Of course the Russians did not like Hillary, for all the right reasons to boot.

Why, so the States wouldn't carefully scrutinize all things election?

IMO, this is Comey’s latest cynical play to save his job.

Actually, I’d trust Newsmax before Newsweek. On neither would I put my full trust and confidence, tho.

What kind of amateur hour administration allows a rundown hasbeen country like Russia to tamper in our election?

If all this Russia crap is real, then the Obama Administration showed real incompetence and/or cowardice in being unable to do anything about it.

The last great hope for the Democratic Party is being able to prove that the Russians outsmarted Obama and let the truth about Hillary see the light of day. This is their road to vindication and victory.

American Democrats and fellow travelers hate Russia for abandoning their dream of Communism. Russia is on par economically with countries like Australia and Mexico.

I wouldn’t rule that (or just about anything out), but trying to put myself in 0vomit’s shoes, I think there are a lot better options. I would make it known to damage him in the election and if he still managed to win, I would make sure he was being investigated 24/7 like Watergate until he was brought down. The 24/7 attempts to bring Trump down are happening, but there doesn’t seem to be any Watergate underlying them to work with. So they are trying to bring him down with innuendo and lies.

Also, it seems rather “convenient” that 0vomit is spending so much time out of the country. Could that be because he’s trying to avoid arrest?

IF that’s true about Comey, why did BO block his going forward??
