The sooner the president realizes that Ryan is an establishment swamp dwelling snake...

Posted on 03/29/2017 4:54:18 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

The sooner the president realizes that Ryan is an establishment swamp dwelling snake...that's going to suck him down into the swampy quicksand and destroy his chances of enacting HIS agenda the better off he and we will be. Ryan represents the enemy within!

Trump won the election already! Now it's his duty is to change gears, uphold the constitution, drain the swamp and MAGA. Quit screwing around with unwanted, unpopular, unsustainable, unconstitutional health care schemes. Push for and accept nothing less than a full repeal on Obamacare and then get to work enacting the rest of HIS MAGA agenda!!

And I guarantee you that if he repeals Obamacare, builds the wall, enforces the law, deports them all, ends sanctuary cities, slaps a moratorium on Muslim immigration, dumps the Iran nuke deal, renegotiates and makes better trade deals, brings back manufacturing and jobs, ends the war on coal, gas & oil, gets domestic oil flowing, dumps the EPA, cuts taxes, cuts spending, cuts debt, cuts regulations, cuts government, appoints constitutionally-minded judges, restores the constitution and liberty, returns education to the states, returns healthcare and welfare to the states, and secures the borders, secures the nation, secures our sovereignty, and rebuilds our military he will go down in history as one of the greatest president ever!

Do as much of this as is humanly possible in his first two-years and he will be reelected and his coattails will pull in even greater Republican majorities.

Screwing us over with Obamacare or GOP-Obamacare-lite will seriously degrade his chances of accomplishing much of anything else. In fact, he will be the establishment’s bitch from that day forward. Ryan and the GOPe are already emboldened enough to start threatening to work against him on the wall. Nip it in the bud or you're already a lame duck!

We the people are in mo mood to allow anyone to bait and switch and screw us over. You will lose your support base.

We are demanding a full repeal!!

The most important thing he ran on and what even got him out of the starting gate to begin with is that he was the ANTI-ESTABLISHMENT candidate who was going to repeal Obamacare, secure the borders, cut the taxes, drain the swamp and make America great again!

Ryan is a bottom feeding, swamp dwelling establishment snake. Ryancare is a piece of unconstitutional, unwanted, unsustainable, big government socialist, anti-freedom, anti-American, scum sucking, establishment swamp snake feces!

Flush it and him!

Do not get sucked down into the quagmire of the establishment swamp!!

Keep the feds on the mission critical issues of securing our sovereign constitutional republic and our God-given inalienable rights and out of the day-to-day nitty gritty governing details that are reserved to the sovereign states and we the self-governing people.

Central planning does not work and it's unconstitutional to boot!

Demand a full repeal!

Give Liberty a chance.

Trump said replace with insurance across state lines, reduced rates and healthcare costs. He didn’t say replace with the crap Ryan is peddling.

Trump will be a great President if he can do even some items from that list.

The problem is the D.C. UniParty. Most elected Republicans do not want to do most of that list, and those items they actually agree with, they are too scared of the criticism so they wimp out.

Trump is, in effect, the first third party President since the 19th century.

I predict we will see just how treacherous the Repub UniParty is when we get to the budget expiry and the debt ceiling.

Bill Bennett always posed as having been Ryan's mentor back in the day. Just more political swamp nepotism.

The way I see it, President Trump has shifted to working in the the swamp rather than draining it.

I realize he has few friends in DC but it is better to die standing than live on your knees.

“We need more Dave Brats and fewer Paul Ryans.”

Dave Brat is outstanding and the attacks against him are relentless—his facebook page is full of astro-turf liberal trolls hurling vitriol at every opportunity. He can take the heat that is needed to restore this to a free republic, but is certainly in the minority.

and for all those on FR trashing the Freedom Caucus as members of the “NeverTrump” uniparty, Dave Brat has never had an unkind word about Donald Trump from day 1 to my knowledge.

The same cannot be said of Ryan and the majority of establishment wing Republicans.

I think Bennett was President Reagan’s second biggest error after G.W. Bush. The Dept. of Education should have been throttled.

Doesn't look like he can be trusted to have Trump's back.

Of course the majority of Trump’s voters are conservative, but what put him over the top? It was cracking into the blue wall. There were counties that flipped from blue to red, and people who once supported Obama who voted for Trump. That’s one reason why the media’s racism argument was nonsensical.

http://www.cnbc.com/heres-a-map-of-the-us-counties-that-flipped-to-trump-from-democrats/

The media campaign against Trump has had some success unfortunately, and that’s reflected in his approval rating. If the media covered Trump fairly, I do believe it would be higher. They never will cover him fairly, but Donald Trump breaking his campaign promise would be a godsend for them.

He promised to repeal and replace and said that he was going to take care of people who need it. He never lied. He said this months before the first primary even. It was an interview with Scott Pelley in 2015 where he said that the government would pay for people to have healthcare that couldn’t afford it. He said he was willing to lose votes over it. He won the nomination, though. If people were looking for someone to flat repeal, he was not the guy. The guy would have been Rand Paul or Ted Cruz (who both would have had some replacement as Paul does now). People voted for him taking him at his word.

The reality is that there are people who voted for Trump on Obamacare right now because they don’t have an alternative. This is one of many such articles and reports out there and only a small taste of what you will get if there is no replacement:

http://www.vox.com/science-and-health/2016/12/13/13848794/kentucky-obamacare-trump

There are millions enrolled under Obamacare, and if you just rip the rug away with no replacement, these people will be left hanging. Many of these people don’t like it because of the cost of their premiums and deductibles, but they don’t have an alternative. Trump promised one.

If the healthcare is ripped from millions of people and people with preexisting conditions or people who are too sick can no longer get care, the Democrats will step in and offer an alternative. That would be the one opening they will need to say, “Look, the Republicans don’t care about you! Vote for us.” They are a party in trouble, but I do believe that will drive turnout for them and cause people who believed Trump that he would provide a replacement to go to them. Therefore, my point is that you would win the battle, but you would lose the war. Trump would be gone in 2020, and their replacement would be Berniecare. You’d also lose out on every other Trump policy that is wonderful.

I’m for having as free market of a system as possible like removing state lines for example, but if someone can’t afford healthcare, Trump said all throughout the campaign he was going to help them. In this way, we are moving the goalposts in the right direction. That’s what Democrats do - increments.

I realize that my view is different than yours. However, my view is the same as the one Trump espoused the entire campaign season. Having personal health issues myself has helped influence my point of view as well. I am a little more liberal on this issue, but again, so was Trump.

I’m not looking to get banned, and so I won’t argue. I’ll just agree to disagree with you.

ObamaCare reminds us that tyranny is the rule. It’s because certain, usually paranoid people, love power over other human beings. Most of us just want the power to control our lives. So we struggle, some much more than others but if the masses just cared a little more about their liberty and understood there are those working behind the scenes ready to steal their liberty.

The blue states he turned were not turned by socialist healthcare, they were turned by his economic plan, ie, to end the idiotic global warming war on coal, gas & oil, to cut taxes and redo unfair trade policies, to secure the borders, to eliminate illegal aliens from flooding in to take jobs and depress wages, to end wasteful big government socialist programs like Obamacare, and generally to create an economy to spur investments, bring back manufacturing and industry and JOBS, JOBS, JOBS!

Socialist healthcare is a net loser.

Wake-up conservatives!
The problem is not personal, the problem is not personnel, the problem is structural, political, ideological.

Yes the problem in part is Paul Ryan for his glaring ineptness and hopeless Rino-ism but removing Paul Ryan, while desirable, is not the solution because the next Republican Speaker of the House will be put in the same predicament Ryan found himself in. It will be the same predicament that John Boehner was in before he escaped.

The root of the problem is that the Republicans know that the bulk of the country does not support cutting entitlements, Obama care included. Yes, they want their premiums reduced, they want their copayments reduced, but at the same time they want to retain coverage for pre-existing illness, for their children until 26, premium subsidies and many other mandates which candidate Trump insisted be retained in any reform legislation but which inevitably doom reform.

So the Republicans and candidate Trump found they could win elections when out of power by criticizing the high premiums and high co-pays of Obama care but once in power they were afraid to cut the entitlement portions of the program.

This is but part of a larger problem. The country is hurtling toward a fiscal cliff because the federal budget out of control which is out of control because of runaway entitlements. Entitlements are runaway because every savvy politician has concluded that the third rail of politics is not just to touch the Social Security entitlement but to touch any entitlement. In fact, I can think of no entitlement that has been eliminated. Work for welfare has been the only successful modification of an entitlement, and that Obama has undone.

Now the inevitable is happening, Donald Trump is turning away from the base which elected him toward the Democrats to put together a governing majority of moderate Republicans and Democrats. Trump is not ideologically committed to the values which motivate conservatives in the House or in this Forum. His commitment is to cut deals. If the conundrum cannot be broken within the framework of conservative ideology, he will work within a new framework, an ideology cobbled together with Democrats and moderate Republicans, a framework which shares their values not ours.

We can crucify Paul Ryan on a cross of ideological purity-I think that would be a good thing-but the cross he is currently being nailed to is not ideologically pure. To throw Paul Ryan under the bus to save president Trump might be good politics but it is real world nonsense. Donald Trump has backed the Ryan Rino-plan because he fears the third rails of politics as much as do the pusillanimous Republicans in the house. Let us not deceive ourselves, the Rino plan is and was the Trump plan and for the same motivation. If you crucify Paul Ryan what must you do to the President who backed their common plan?

We must decide whether we are conservatives or simply supporters of Donald Trump, right or wrong. Stop the self-deception and turn to conservative solutions and ways to sell those solutions to the public. In the end the health care debacle is not personal or personnel, it is a metaphor for the state of our nation.

The Trump Revolution may unravel faster than one can say “Hilary is a crook” if they don’t start to govern and actually accomplish something.

And will the Freedom Caucus ever set aside the #NeverTrump childishness and start to help w something productive like Obamacare repeal and some big tax cuts? Their philosopher king act is tiresome

Funny, but I was just watching a documentary on FDR last night where he was barnstorming the country trying to increase the number of justices on the Supreme Court. He was absolutely baffled as he learned the people and even his own party was opposed to it. Finally had to abandon the idea and take a different tack.
