"Prior to this year, the House voted to repeal Obamacare more than 50 times ---when it was clear that President Obama would veto the bill. The problem we are facing is that some of the people who voted for repeal 50 times will not vote for repeal when it counts, when it is "our moment in time," with Republicans in control of Congress and the presidency." --Rep Dave Brat
"This has been my complaint since before Obamacare became law. Nothing Ive seen addresses the problem of increased costs of medical care. All these bills just shift the rising costs from the users to the taxpayers. The system cant work if healthcare costs continue to rise at a rate thats faster than household income." --mbynack
Costs go through the roof when the government unconstitutionally mandates that everyone MUST be covered and must be covered for all kinds of crap they dont need or want and regardless of preexisting conditions or whether they can pay for it or even if they are not citizens. Tyranny is expensive.
To our Republican Representatives:
Repeal 100% of Obamacare and replace with free enterprise/free market solutions per the U.S. Constitution!
Nothing else is acceptable or workable. Socialism, communism, fascism, central planning, etc, is totalitarianism and never works!! Our federal government and our constitutional republic was not designed to be and was never intended to be a welfare state! Our Constitution was designed to prevent all this TYRANNICAL crap!
We rebelled against a tyrannical king for a lot less than this!
No excuses. If the house or senate rules are obstacles to repeal with a simple majority vote or within reconciliation rules (or whatever), then change the damned rules already so you can repeal this unconstitutional piece of socialist crap with the simple majorities you hold in both chambers! The constitution gives YOU the majority, the power to do that.
The congress and the chief executive have just as much power, authority and responsibility as the SCOTUS (and perhaps even more so) to ensure that the Constitution is upheld! Do whatever it takes to fulfill your constitutional DUTY!
We voted in Republican majorities and a Republican president specifically so you can do this REPEAL deal, ON DAY ONE!
Just shut up the ridiculous whining, hand wringing and squabbling and quit trying to pass additional or watered down but still tyrannical unconstitutional bills and just get the clean repeal DONE as you PLEDGED to your constituents and is your sworn constitutional DUTY!!
For crying out loud are you the elected representatives of the free citizens of a free market constitutional republic or are WE the captive subjects of a tyrannical USSR style communist government with a centrally planned economy?
To all:
Does the constitution even matter to you people anymore?
Does the Republic matter?
Does Liberty matter?
Does a free market economy matter?
Our constitutionally limited government was not intended to take care of us from cradle to grave.
Its NOT their job!!
Conservatives and the Freedom Caucus are not our enemies. The big government globalist establishment is!
And if we go along with it trying for a free lunch, we are. The government does not owe us health care or health care insurance. Its NOT a God-given right! Nor is it a constitutional power for the federal government. It's reserved to the states and the people!
Wake the hell up, people, its a lot later than you think.
Jim, Love you, Man, but short of a small pocket-sized handheld tactical nuclear device, nothing is going to get the House off their arses.
To be effective as a Speaker and his Whip, they need to be, among other things, feared! This pair is not.
It’s sad, but also, I fear, all too true.
Per usual, I could hardly be more with you, Jim!
Let’s hope the president and his team somehow hear you and get it.
Do you think that the democrats won’t change the rules next time they get the majority now that Reid has blown up the “gentlemen’s agreement?” Best take the constitutional option now and repeal, abolish, cut, slash, burn and salt the earth wherever possible and get as many constitutionally-minded judges and appointees installed as is humanly possible while we hold the majority and ability to do so. Life is short.
Great catch!
Paul Ryan a year ago:
But here’s the thing. The idea that Obamacare is the law of the land for good is a myth. This law will collapse under its own weight, or it will be repealed. Because all those rules and procedures Senate Democrats have used to block us from doing this? That’s all history,” he added. “We have now shown that there is a clear path to repealing Obamacare without 60 votes in the Senate. So, next year, if we’re sending this bill to a Republican president, it will get signed into law.”

Our representatives are arguing the wrong argument. The Fedgov has no buisness legislating health insurance. I will not comply with your unConstitutional acts. My health is my responsibity and I one else’s.
Get the Fedgov out of my health decisions.
Yes, this shows Republicans in Congress real colors. That they’re willing to pass a bill over and over again when they know it will get approved, but then when it will they won’t pass it shows their political corruption. Pathetic. President Trump needs to call for Ryan to put up past Bill, pass it, or resign. No more games.
The constitution authorizes the house and senate to make their own rules (by majority vote in each chamber). They made these “60 vote” and other rules for themselves. The “nuclear option” is actually the constitutional option to change the rules. Harry Reid executed that option to some degree to push through Obama’s agenda.
I said this on another thread but will repeat —
Wouldn’t it be cool if the pubs somehow worked out a deal behind closed doors and out of public view — and then suddenly there is this submitted bill that passes the House & Senate and gets signed into law?
I think this is what they should do. It would surprise the crap out of everyone and Trump’s approval ratings would skyrocket.
Thank you!
Senators Murkowski, Collins, Portman, and Capito have said they’re against it. They need only 3 of those 4.
Medical Insurance should be no harder to get than Car Insurance. Better call GEICO.
Per Karl Denninger. market-ticker.org
Why would you need health insurance if the following pricing was commonplace for the following routine medical things — and remember to extend these representative samples to everything else in the medical field:
MRI: $275
CT scan: $167
X-Ray: $37
Mammogram: $142
Ultrasound (pregnancy-related primarily, I suspect): $94
A1c test (common for diabetics): $4
CBC (complete blood count; common for a lot of diagnostics): $3.13
Metabolic panel (common diagnostic as well): $3.50
PSA screening (common for men over 50): $7
3-Panel cholesterol (the cheap and common one): $3.94
Tetanus booster: $20
90 Prozacs: $1.98
30 Prilosecs: $1.44
30 Plavix (blood thinner; newer generation of Warfarin): $2.76
90 Zocors (which I’d argue you probably ought not take at all!): $2.16
These are not fantasy prices — they’re real. They’re what you could have today, or darn close to them if we had a conversation about competitive markets in medicine. I didn’t pull these numbers out of my ass; they’re on a “concierge” site for a “direct care” practice in Michigan and none of them are being provided at a loss.
Think about what you spend on “health insurance” today; whether you pay for it directly or you “get it” through employment. If you get it through your job then every penny of what your employer spends is money you could instead have in salary. Multiply the monthly amount your employer spends on health insurance for you by 12 and that’s money you should receive in cash but don’t because it’s stolen and given to an industry that then charges you five to ten times the above through the so-called “insurance.” In fact for most medications your co-pay is larger, often by ten times, the above prices!
Would you rather pay a $10 or $20 co-pay for that Plavix prescription or would you rather pay $2.76 cash?
If the answer is “cash” then can you please explain why you would then pay for said “coverage” at all?
So why are these medical procedures, drugs and similar so expensive now for most people? Why are you basically extorted into buying “insurance” either through your employer or directly? Why is now the law to run these charges through a company that has to make a profit and thus is guaranteed to drive up cost?
If we are determined and persistent and noisy enough, we will demand a clean repeal bill (changing the rules if necessary) and demand it be brought to a vote. Then we will target the no voters to be cantorized in the next election. Rinse and repeat often. It will pass eventually.
I was starting to think that DU had taken over your website
Wholeheartedly agree.
May those in public service who hold the same convictions be bold enough to push for repeal to become reality. There are a few.
Thanks for the post, Mr. Robinson! Well said!

This was “repair”, no repeal. It was a big lie from the git go.
Nice job, Jim.
Y’all can do your echo chamber thing, but the present Continuing Resolution fully funds Obamacare, including funding for illegals.
It expires April 28.
The Dems will not vote AT ALL for ANYTHING that Trump backs, so y’all better figure out how to explain voting for healthcare for illegals when another CR is all that will get through.
Oh and this stuff about change the rules . . . the courts generally don’t stick their nose into the business of Congress with one exception. If Congress does not conduct its business according to its own rules, that will be stopped. They can have any rule they want, but they gotta follow it.
And here’s the relevant Senate rule on Cloture and how you change that rule:
Senate Rule XXII, however, known as the cloture rule, enables Senators to end a filibuster on any
debatable matter the Senate is considering. Sixteen Senators initiate this process by presenting a
motion to end the debate. In most circumstances, the Senate does not vote on this cloture motion
until the second day of session after the motion is made. Then, it requires the votes of at least
three-fifths of all Senators (normally 60 votes) to invoke cloture. (Invoking cloture on a proposal
to amend the Senates standing rules requires the support of two-thirds of the Senators present
and voting, whereas cloture on nominations other than to the U.S. Supreme Court requires a
numerical majority.)
One more time — Invoking cloture on a proposal to amend the Senate’s standing rules requires the support of 2/3 of the Senators present.
So if you want to essentially make cloture a process requiring only a simple majority — you can do that, provided you get 66 Senators to agree that is a good rule.
Holy cow! What a difference in prices!!
Pinging this one out also!!

Insurance is a racket...
Get the feds OUT of the health business because it is none of their business - including Medicare and Medicaid which were Democrat programs to start with. But that will be later on down the road.
