Repeal Obamacare and replace with freedom. Change House and Senate rules to do so if necessary!

Posted on 03/27/2017 12:52:30 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

"Prior to this year, the House voted to repeal Obamacare more than 50 times ---when it was clear that President Obama would veto the bill. The problem we are facing is that some of the people who voted for repeal 50 times will not vote for repeal when it counts, when it is "our moment in time," with Republicans in control of Congress and the presidency." --Rep Dave Brat

"This has been my complaint since before Obamacare became law. Nothing I’ve seen addresses the problem of increased costs of medical care. All these bills just shift the rising costs from the users to the taxpayers. The system can’t work if healthcare costs continue to rise at a rate that’s faster than household income." --mbynack

Costs go through the roof when the government unconstitutionally mandates that everyone MUST be covered and must be covered for all kinds of crap they don’t need or want and regardless of preexisting conditions or whether they can pay for it or even if they are not citizens. Tyranny is expensive.

To our Republican Representatives:

Repeal 100% of Obamacare and replace with free enterprise/free market solutions per the U.S. Constitution!

Nothing else is acceptable or workable. Socialism, communism, fascism, central planning, etc, is totalitarianism and never works!! Our federal government and our constitutional republic was not designed to be and was never intended to be a welfare state! Our Constitution was designed to prevent all this TYRANNICAL crap!

We rebelled against a tyrannical king for a lot less than this!

No excuses. If the house or senate rules are obstacles to repeal with a simple majority vote or within reconciliation rules (or whatever), then change the damned rules already so you can repeal this unconstitutional piece of socialist crap with the simple majorities you hold in both chambers! The constitution gives YOU the majority, the power to do that.

The congress and the chief executive have just as much power, authority and responsibility as the SCOTUS (and perhaps even more so) to ensure that the Constitution is upheld! Do whatever it takes to fulfill your constitutional DUTY!

We voted in Republican majorities and a Republican president specifically so you can do this REPEAL deal, ON DAY ONE!

Just shut up the ridiculous whining, hand wringing and squabbling and quit trying to pass additional or watered down but still tyrannical unconstitutional bills and just get the clean repeal DONE as you PLEDGED to your constituents and is your sworn constitutional DUTY!!

For crying out loud are you the elected representatives of the free citizens of a free market constitutional republic or are WE the captive subjects of a tyrannical USSR style communist government with a centrally planned economy?

To all:

Does the constitution even matter to you people anymore?

Does the Republic matter?

Does Liberty matter?

Does a free market economy matter?

Our constitutionally limited government was not intended to take care of us from cradle to grave.

It’s NOT their job!!

Conservatives and the Freedom Caucus are not our enemies. The big government globalist establishment is!

And if we go along with it trying for a free lunch, we are. The government does not owe us health care or health care insurance. It’s NOT a God-given right! Nor is it a constitutional power for the federal government. It's reserved to the states and the people!

Wake the hell up, people, it’s a lot later than you think.

“For now, keep Medicaid, Medical and Medicare.”

You can’t..Medicare is a Federal Government run health plan...so it is illegal according to the Constitution. You can’t arbitrarily decide to keep Medicare(a Federal Government health plan) while arguing to keep the Feds out of the rest of healthcare.

What is your plan for the millions of Americans that are on Medicare and will be without health insurance the next day.

You may have Republican majorities, but obviously they are not small government conservative majorities. They have no intention of following through. They like big government. We cannot quit hammering on these big government GOPe socialist/globalist bastards.

Dumping Lyin’ Ryan and the Turtle McConnell from their leadership perches would go far in turning this around.

What happens to them the day after medicare goes bust?

We’re not talking about repealing medicare today, though. We’re talking about repealing Obamacare, which is itself a drain on medicare.

Misapplied to the free market, “greed that has little or no concern for the doctor patient relationship or the health of the individual” is actually a perfect description of how government works when it unconstitutionally meddles in our lives. Greed, corruption, and theft is found in greater magnitude in government than anywhere else. Government wants to insert itself into every facet of our lives that it possibly can because it wants OUR money and MORE power. The federal government is NOT our friend. It was never designed to be our friend and was never meant to be our friend.

Government Healthcare vs. Free Market healthcare

The feds' desire to commandeer our healthcare has NOTHING to do with our health at all but it has everything to do with greed and avarice. A distant, bloated, and stupid bureaucracy with a bureaucratic head who wants to expand his fiefdom with more power and more of our money, inserts itself between each of us and our doctor while knowing and caring little about us or our doctor. Government healthcare is like turning your doctor's office and hospital into the DMV. “Take a number. What? You’re dying? Sorry, we can’t do anything about that. Sit down, and shut up. Maybe we’ll call your number.” We need to get that.

We need to understand that federal meddling in healthcare is patently unconstitutional. That alone should be the end of the debate but, sadly, does not seem to be.

So we also need to understand what the free market is. The free market is the voluntary cooperation between buyers and sellers pursing their interests in the open competition of the marketplace. It is freedom in action. It is what made America the wealthiest and most powerful nation on earth until the feds unconstitutionally began weakening individual freedom in America since about the mid 1930's.

The best healthcare is where there is a direct relationship between the patient (buyer) who is free to choose his doctor, and the doctor (the seller) who is free to charge whatever he chooses. The patient searches for the best quality care for the best price and the doctor works to provide the best care for a reasonable price (else he will have few patients). This voluntary arrangement is what made healthcare in America the best in the world until the feds began mucking it up in the 1970's.

Self Interest vs. Greed

Many have been brainwashed by leftist government schools about what self interest is and the difference between self interest and greed. Self interest is a God-given human trait that is necessary for self preservation and well-being. Self interest is healthy and is what drives the free market economy. The desire for profit is not greed. Everybody is born with a desire to profit. Don't we want to profit in our endeavors? Of course we do. Everyone does.

Greed on the other hand is an unreasonable and excessive desire for wealth and power. The problem isn't "greed" per se. That's simply one of many human flaws. The problem is what's implied when the incendiary word "greed" is used: the lust for wealth and power AT THE EXPENSE OF OTHERS - the exact definition of the corruption we have in today's federal government. The lying leftist government schools make no distinction between self interest and greed and call all desire for personal profit "greed" - with one BIG exception: those in government. Somehow, those in government are angelic beings who have no desire to put food on the table for their families or have the finer things in life. But in fact we know those in government, especially career politicians, are the greediest and most corrupt group found anywhere. That is one reason Trump got elected.

So the lying leftist government schools conspicuously do not mention the greed of government officials, bureaucratic heads, and politicians in their lust for more and more power by essentially "legally" stealing more and more of our money. Eventually (we're almost there) the government thinks ALL of our money actually belongs to them. If that isn't greed, I don't know what is.

Is there greed in the marketplace? Of course. Buyers and sellers are humans aren't they? They are just like the humans that run the government except for a big difference. In the free and open marketplace, competitive forces will curb greed at the expense of others because buyers always look for the best quality at the best price. If you're not careful, greediness can bounce you out of business. Many in the free market are there for healthy self interest. Some are there for greed. But in the free market it doesn't really matter because the marketplace itself will weed out those who don't perform honestly with quality products or services because again, buyers in their own self interest always look for value. You can only cheat for so long and then you'll be gone.

Not so in government. Some politicians make a career of cheating the American people and often get promoted for doing so. All they have to do is lie to enough gullible people and hide their corruption and extortion. Happens all the time.

Government Corruption and Bribery Mislabeled "Crony Capitalism"

Bribes you say? "Crony capitalism" you say? Bad free enterprise and their bribes? Well think again. There is no such thing a "crony capitalism. Only CORRUPT GOVERNMENT. Free enterprise is not doing its job if it is not looking for every legitimate way to cut costs and increase revenues. If government is offering to give a business or an industry an edge through "subsides " or flat-out bribes from special-interest lobbies, that is by definition government corruption. It is the feds that are committing unconstitutional acts and are outside the law. Get the feds out of the marketplace where they don't constitutionally belong and all this special interest crap and lobbyist bribes will be gone. That is the answer to government corruption mislabeled "crony capitalism".

Freedom vs. Force

Government hates the fee market because government hates freedom in general because freedom is the ABSENCE OF GOVERNMENT and its coercion. A major difference between the free market economy and government command-and-control economy and is the free market is voluntary - people exercising their God-given rights to their pursuits as they see fit - whereas the government is coercive and force is used with the threat of imprisonment.

Government is not our friend. It basically does one thing every well: force its will on others. If it is kept small and constitutional, that force can be for our good (ex. the local police). Our federal government was basically designed by the Constitution to do one thing: use force to protect us from invasion and incursion into our freedoms. Government is like a deadly wolf meant to protect us from our enemies but if it chews through its chain, it can turn and kill those it's supposed to be protecting. That is what has happened in America. The feds have chewed through its constitutional chain and is poised to destroy our individual rights and freedoms.

Restoration of Our Free Constitutional Republic vs. "Conservative"

Whether all of this is "conservative" I don't know. I don't care about "conservative" whatever that is. I care about restoring our Free Constitutional Republic.

I agree with that. But if you get the ball on your 20 what’s wrong with advancing it to the enemy 30 before you are forced to switch quarterbacks? What’s wrong with locking up as much yardage as possible before the switch?

LEGITIMACY BIAS

Jim,

I respect your well informed opinion on this issue.

I am getting to a deeper meaning, challenging political orthodoxy and just getting an idea out there.

Historical House voting data, shows Republicans rarely have the higher 60 member voting majority, that Democrats achieve more frequently. If 60 is accepted as the ‘legitimate’ threshold, Democrats can pass more bills over time, and the tendency is for ever bigger Government, over time. That is the historical data.

‘Legitimacy’ is a subjective idea. A State administrator knows displaying a sign, “Stay off the grass”, true or false, people are more likely to follow a sign. Wearing a  “Big White Hat” adds legitimacy to a salesman.

The declaration, “60 votes required”, adds legitimacy, again, true or false. But it really takes a 51 simple majority, to even “set the 60 rule”.

All life ‘rules’ are subject to legitimacy bias. A moral person needs less of rules. He is guided by right & wrong. But for  common people, declare a ‘rule’ in a schoolyard, card game or politics, more people go along, whether true or false.

‘60 votes’ threshold kind of dooms Republicans each decade with Bigger Government, historically.

Only 2/3 super majority for ‘veto override’ is truly legitimate. Other legislative items are subject to a vague legitimacy bias.

Pelosi’s initial Obamacare, ‘deemed’ passed declaration, was an amateur attempt to change what is legitimate. She tried to informally change the rules, but just for that bill.

Repealing ‘Government Care’ slavery is of critical importance. A broad arsenal of tools is required, including challenging what is truly legitimate.

For this particular case, 60 is not sacred. And rules are not sacred. Patriots are allowed to push this idea too.

“Per Karl Denninger. market-ticker.org”

Exactly what Ms Barnhardt was saying in her post this morning, as per my post #14.

The damn insurance companies and that whole racket use price fixing, gauging, and collusion to what amounts to ‘legalized’ extortion now that the government has gotten involved! There’s absolutely no reason many, if not most, of the treatments, procedures, medications, etc. should cost as much as we are being charged if this racket was broken apart and the free market was allowed to flourish.

I’m personally dealing with an allegedly very aggressive cancer. I’m FAR from wealthy, but I refused to sign up for Obamacare. There’s a number of reasons, but my principles won’t allow me to take part in this corrupt system, enriching those in the racket at the expense of those who pay far more taxes than I. But that’s not the point. For example, I’m SLOWLY paying off an MRI. When I went in for the MRI (which took 10 minutes, once they finally got to me) I received a bill for about $5500. That MRI machine costs somewhere in the neighborhood of $1million. It’s being used non-stop every day. At $5500 for 10 minutes of use, it doesn’t take long to pay that machine off. Sure, there’s other costs such as maintenance, the salary of the operator, etc., but there’s no reason the patient cost isn’t closer to $275 as Denninger points out, except for the involvement of The Racket!

Again, the specialists say I need a surgery. I asked what that would cost if I paid cash: $28,000. It generally requires (but never did before) a machine that costs $1million. The machine gets used every day, all day, by multiple doctors. Like the MRI, it gets paid off fairly quickly. Yes, the surgon has a unique skill set, started out with a mountain of education debt (a whole other topic), but charges significantly MORE (@$60,000) than the $28,000 cash price when it’s billed out through The Racket.

But what gets me the most angry, is when I first was seeking out a doctor to perform the surgery, I was referred to a guy working in a large hospital. I decided it wouldn’t hurt to go meet him, just to see if I liked the guy and would trust him with my life. I made it abundantly clear that all I wanted to do was just meet the guy. I drove the 5-1/2 hours to his location, spent a few hours filling out lots and lots of papers at various stations, then had an intern come visit me to ask more questions, and finally met the doctor. After talking with him for a maximum of 10 minutes, my visit was over. A week or so later I received a bill for that visit for right at about $350!!! All so I could just meet the guy. Because The Racket is involved, they get away with billing out that much. It’s nuts!!!!

All that was over a year ago, and I’m still here. My health is declining, but I’m not fearful, because I have absolute faith in Christ. I obviously have quite an interest in what these retarded Uniparty fools come up with, and so far they seem to just want more of the same, but with a different label. They don’t care, because they’ll be exempt from whatever turd they serve up to the American (and illegal) public. They get their ‘special’ gifts from those in The Racket to vote a certain way ensuring The Racket can continue to fill their coffers. It’s immoral, it’s unlawful, and it’s unconstitutional, and it needs to be repealed immediately. THEN they ‘could’ start working on the solution.

Well, I could be wrong, but I don’t like the GOP passing unconstitutional bills to move the ball a few yards. Sets a bad precedence. And leaves a lot of opportunity for establishment treachery.

They’ve all admitted during these last eight years or so that Obamacare is unconstitutional. Just repeal the damn thing and be done with it.
