Texas U.S. Rep. Ted Poe quit the conservative House Freedom Caucus on Sunday after lawmakers failed to pass a bill to replace the Affordable Care Act two days before.
Poe had prepared to vote for the Republican American Health Care Act, which was ultimately pulled from the House floor when Republicans learned they did not have enough votes to pass it, reported Fox News. Poe said he was unhappy with the caucus opposition to the bill.
"To deliver on the conservative agenda we have promised the American people for eight years, we must come together to find solutions to move this country forward," said Poe, per Fox.
"Saying no is easy, leading is hard, but that is what we were elected to do. Leaving this caucus will allow me to be a more effective member of Congress and advocate for the people of Texas. It is time to lead."

Then they should have presented that to Trump. They didn’t. When he asked what it would take to get aboard they told him, he got it for them and then they said no they wanted something more. Bad faith negotiating, nothing lower. Moving the goalposts is not done in the real world, it’s a Weasley politicians trick. I applaud Poe for walking away from these guys.
They weren't. They never were. There was never any real effort to repeal obungholecare, and there never will be. It will explode. We will get single payer from that explosion. I'll never vote for another rotten, worthless piece of trash Republican, including Trump, ever again.

How in the world can Donald Trump who campaigned as an outsider and who promised to defeat the cronyism in the GOP-e end up on the same team as Ryan and the RINO’s?
I guess the insurance company lobbyists must like Obamacare, because that's the only reason I can think why they wouldn't repeal it now.
Then we hang separate. Trump hitched his trailer to Ryan. Bad idea. Trump should have pushed the very same repeal that the GOP voted for fifty some times between 2010 and 2016. He didn't. They aren't serious about repeal, not at all. Obungholecare was designed to explode, with the next step being single payer. That's what we're going to end up with, thanks to Trump and the traitorous GOP. Screw that. I ain't playing the game anymore.

Yep. And if you read his recent tweets and pay attention to recent blogs who quote "unnamed sources", you'll get the idea that Trump will soon begin negotiations with Pelosi and the Rats.

Trump is not calling for a straight repeal now nor did he run on that.
He promised a replacement that would cover everyone, it worked for election purposes(similar to his SS and Medicare promises), he beat Hillary.
Trump's promises and the FC’s positions are incompatible on this. Results predictable.
That's why they are talking about teaming up with some Dems to replace the FC votes on upcoming bills.
For heaven’s sake, get a grip.

FC member Dave Brat posted a great article on his Facebook page over the weekend. He noted that his office had received 800 phone calls about Ryan's AHCA bill -- and 700 of them were from people opposed to it.
If Ted Poe wants to play the role of a "political suicide bomber" the way the Democrats did before their historic losses in 1994 and 2010, then I wish him the best of luck.
Better yet -- Trump should have pushed for even one item from the very same seven-point health care reform plan that he posted on his own website in March 2016 when he was running for President.
That seven-point plan has been removed from his website.
That is completely and verifiably false. The seven-point health care reform plan released by the Trump campaign in March 2016 included the following:
1. Completely repeal Obamacare, including the individual mandate.
2. Enable consumers to buy insurance across state lines.
3. Exclude all health insurance premiums from taxation, not just employer-sponsored insurance.
4. Allow individuals to use Health Savings Accounts.
5. Require price transparency from all healthcare providers.
6. Block-grant Medicaid to the states.
7. Allow U.S. consumers to buy drugs from overseas.
This sounds like a great plan. This is what I supported when I voted for Donald Trump.
WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS SEVEN-POINT PLAN?

Now that’s an interesting question, given the fact that Paul Ryan is a helluva lot closer to the Koch Brothers than anyone in the Freedom Caucus. Furthermore, it took more than the 36 members of the Freedom Caucus to kill AHCA and “obstruct” Trump’s agenda, which I thought was to “Repeal and Replace Obamacare”, not water it down a little and blow sunshine up our butts.
So they were able to pass the full repeal in January of 2016, but today they wouldn't have the support?
Got a little hint for all of you. I am friends with the former MI 1 House Rep. I called him one time to see how it was going while he was in the house of reps. He was at breakfast at the time so we didnt talk long. Told me that in no way can anything be done because they all are being paid by special interests and their congressional pay is just a tiny bit of what they recieve in personal revenue.
NOTHING WILL EVER GET DONE! NOTHING!
He stayed in long enough to collect his retirement and left disgusted. Told me good luck since the people DO NOT mean a dam thing to any of those in that place.
So yell all you want because you and I do not count for ANYTHING and they could give a rats ass if you or I die.
And then if it does get signed into law, a group of people will start saying it was some strategic 3D chess move.
