Despite polls showing that 71% of Canadians would not have voted for the measure, Canada's Parliament, with the strong backing of Justin Trudeau's Liberal government, passed a motion this week 201 to 91 that critics say singles out Islam for special protection. Tabled by Muslim liberal MP Iqra Khalid, M-103 urges the federal government to “condemn Islamophobia” and to “develop a whole-of-government approach to reducing or eliminating systemic racism and religious discrimination including Islamophobia.” The term “Islamophobia” is nowhere defined in the motion.
A petition on CitizenGo asking MPs to stop the “restrictive ‘anti-blasphemy’” motion has been signed by 79,500 people.
“This motion will encourage legislation that would criminalize speech deemed ‘islamophobic’ and lay the groundwork for imposing what is essentially a Sharia anti-blasphemy law on all of Canada,” the petition states.
"If that happens, criticism of Islam would constitute a speech crime in Canada,” it states, adding that this “kind of content-based, viewpoint-discriminatory censorship is unacceptable in a Western liberal democracy.”

There is no free speech in Canada
I have had many Canadians argue with me saying that they have free speech but they do not.
I see the antisemite trolls have invaded the comments section on there, spreading the “blame Israel” lies.
One step closer to sharia rule. I bet now that anyone criticizing this bill will be in violation of the bill.

BS. I’m from Kanada and might have been the reason why i fought with canadian Freepers who dont show up for the past year. You are totally correct. Anyone who says NO, tell them to PM me and I’ll set these clowns straight as usual.
This is not actually a bill. It’s a motion, hence the “M” in M-103. It therefore has no weight in law as it stands.
Islam is a cancer upon human history and must sooner or later be cut out.
Except this bill was not motivated by good intentions.
The word phobia seems to be used to denote some sort of hatred. It might be just me. but I use a dictionary definition of phobia.
An extreme or irrational fear or aversion to something.
Simply put, if one has phobia and does not commit any offence because of it - why make it a crime? I have a fear of vast heights, I believe called Acrophobia. I found that out when I could not walk across a glass walkway to a precipice. People chatted and laughed as they carried on. House on the Rocks, Wisconsin.
One can imagine certain people(the usual suspects) sneering and talking in a contemptuous way. Their target is the effete Canadian appeasers- those politicians who voted for the bill. Feeding the crocodile, hoping it will eat you last. (attributed to Winston S. Churchill). Excuse the rant.
Find out who you are not allowed to criticize and you will find out who is really in charge of your country.
It therefore has no weight in law as it stands.
