WASHINGTON (AP) -- House Republicans, short of votes, withdraw health care bill.

“We do not want Obamacare, GOP. We elected you to all three branches to get rid of it, so get f***ing rid of it BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!”
Correct Chris, they just put a band-aid on the existing Obamacare.
This is good. More time to regroup. We were too short on time, thanks to Ryan wanting it on Obamacare anniversary date yesterday, and were too short on respect for Freedom Caucus concerns.
NOW, brace.. this is going to be blamed on the conservatives. That means the Freedom Caucus is going to get the blame, in the media and by the RINO contingency.
Karl Rove is the first serpent fire against the Freedom Caucus. He *claims* “they kept moving the goal posts”.
No proof. Just sling it out there and get started slinging it.
There are a few parts of Obamacare that are enormously popular with the public-- for example, the provision that says that if you change jobs, your new insurer can't refuse to cover your preexisting conditions. A pure repeal would leave a lot of people without coverage, and would be politically suicidal.
Amen. By Ryan.
Votes. Missing votes.
It was no secret a bunch of them were bums last year an they still won the primaries
and they would again
“Let Obamacare fall on its own.”
The problem with that is that when it does, the smart people on tv and in DC will say that the solution is more government involvement in healthcare.
I’ve heard this position from many corners and I think if anyone genuinely believes this is a good plan, they simply haven’t been paying attention to the political status quo.
It’s a terrible plan that will fail, worthy of the braintrust at GOP Inc.
That is exactly what I said earlier this weak. Obamacare will get funded. It won’t die. It’s ignorant to think otherwise.
Fine. Tactical retreat. Fix the bill and bring it back.
It's a disaster for Paul Ryan but it isn't good for Trump. He stood behind Ryan on this and twisted arms. He should have stayed out of it.
“This is a disaster for Paul Ryan, NOT for President Trump. It weakens the Speaker, hopefully to the point where he is replaced.”
Once again, Wisconsin apologizes for Paul Ryan. Sorry!
(HOWEVER, we’re accomplishing a LOT of other OUTSTANDING things here in ‘Sconny!)
Now - come back with a FULL REPEAL of 0bamacare and dig out those great REPLACEMENT PLANS you’ve all been sitting on FOR EIGHT YEARS and lets’ get something DONE!
How can this be so flippin’ HARD? We The People TOLD YOU what we wanted you to do! ENOUGH with the Dog & Pony show! Get Busy! @#$%^&*!
You are both on the mark.
Republicans had seven years during the Obama administration to develop a plan to repeal, then replace, the ACA.
Instead, they did nothing other than to campaign on the ACA bogeyman and pass several worthless repeal bills they knew would be ignored.
Trump screwed everything up by winning.
Suddenly the GOP Congresscritters had to get off their collective duff and do something—Not surprisingly, they failed miserably.
This is squarely on Paul Ryan and the Republican “leaders” in the House. Trump can berate and bluster all he wants, but there is still this thing called separation of powers.
Hopefully, this greases the skids for Ryan’s rapid exit.
Exactly!
A GOP majority House and Senate have already passed a bill to repeal Obamacare and sent it to Obama. Do the same again, but this time I would expect President Trump to sign it.
Good, it was a piece of crap.
This confirms to me that the first swamp needing to be drained is the GOPe.
I am convinced that Ryan et al set up Trump to fail and be neutralized while willing to sit it out for 4 years. They did not think there would be as strong push back in the House as there is
“Ryan sure looks like a wheeler dealer now. LOL
I think Trump punked him.”
He did. Trump wants to get rid of Ryan. Ryan the dumb $hit, doesn’t even see this.
...House RINOs that is.
Around 40 stood up to be counted.
That should tell us quite a bit, if you think about it.
Are folks who support the Ryancare bill really convinced there are 197 Conservatives in Congress and only 40 Leftist Republicans? LOL
That one test alone reveals what is going on here.
We have known for a long time Conservatives were far in the minority of Republicans in Congress.
This confirmed it.
I have to agree with Hannity on this.
That Ryan didn’t write a bill to start with that had Republican consensus is almost criminally incompetence.
How can you go public with something that you’re not sure that your own team supports it?
But ryno has his own ideas on tax reform...
