Trump delivers ultimatum to House GOP: Pass health-care measure on Friday or he’ll move on

President Trump delivered an ultimatum to House Republicans on Thursday night: Vote to approve the measure to overhaul the nation’s health-care system on the House floor Friday, or reject it and the president will move on to his other legislative priorities.

The president signaled that the time for negotiations was over with rank-and-file Republicans who were meeting late at night on Capitol Hill to try to find common ground on the embattled package crafted by House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.).

The move was a high-risk gamble for the president and speaker, who have both invested significant political capital in passing legislation that would rewrite the 2010 Affordable Care Act. For Trump, who campaigned as a skilled negotiator capable of forging a good deal on behalf of Americans, it could either vindicate or undercut one of his signature claims. If the measure fails, it would mean that Obamacare — something that congressional Republicans have railed against for seven years — would remain in place.

“Disastrous #Obamacare has led to higher costs & fewer options. It will only continue to get worse! We must #RepealANDReplace. #PassTheBill,” Trump tweeted from his official White House account as the meeting was wrapping up Thursday night.

AGREED.

Our President has said more than once an effective negotiation means being willing to leave the table.
Also, he had said that this vote will take place in broad daylight not the middle of the night so all these babies will be visible to the constituency as they make their cases for or against. Let the voters see them in action.

The House passed repeal before.

The House has voted 54 times in four years on Obamacare. - WaPo - March 21, 2014.

Not governanance by 12% as you assert, and mock.

Why never? Is the term over this weekend? Rewrite it and create a better bill. Let the senete sort through what is able to get through the senate.

Trump is right.

This is the time for Republicans to stick together, repeal Obamacare and pass this healthcare bill. There will be plenty of chances to make adjustments later.

Walk away. If the RINOs pull their crap on the next issue walk away from that too.

Make the RINOs own it all going into the mid-terms.

Ryan was not right. He was shameless and still is. He is a national disgrace. Intellect does not make one a statesman or a good citizen. He has forsaken his oath of office to support and defend the Constitution against All enemies, foreign and domestic.

All we have is the Constitution, a contract among American citizens with Our government. If we have not honorable elected officials we have no country. We live under a false hope of freedom at the whim of those who would rule us. The Costitution, not the party or political point of view, social position or standing, nor religious or non religious belief allows us to live as free men in this world. If we elect citizens unwilling to pledge there life, property, their sacred honor to keep the oath of office we have no Constitution ergo no country or liberty.

I swear Trump is leaning on Ryan to deal, tonight.

It makes no sense for Trump to say all day long and again today, “Repeal and Replace and Lower Premiums”, when Ryan covers illegals healthcare, raises premiums and does not repeal Obamacare.

Who says all that in the same breath with Ryan’s bill, that does none of it?

IMHo, he planned to walk away from this if it didn't slide through the goose in a heartbeat the minute Ryan was slimy and wouldn't repeal ObamaCare outright. Trump and Ryan both know RyanCare as a separate piece of business was DOA and without the lie of mitigating the ill effects of repeal (LOL, Uniparty line of crap). Without people demanding repeal, he had no chance of tying his fake, stupid, pharma fattening, solution behind the need to limit the ill effects of repeal.

He knew, as did anyone with half a brain, that Ryan couldn't twist arms the way he thought he could, didn't have the personality to sweet talk anyone into anything because he's an egotistical little Sh*t, and that there were enough people opposed to anything except the same repeal that was sent to Obama, that there was very little chance they could pass anything.

Now, Trump says, "Hey, the guy was anti-Trump after he was NeverTrump, calmed down a bit, then started with the BS again as soon as I won. See, I"m willing to make a deal and even work with people who oppose me on most things. He said he know what do to and I backed him. Now about the tax cut bill the same bunch who proved they don't know what they're doing won't move on . . . "

Trump wanted Ryan's head and he's going to get it. I also think he's got someone in mind for the slot and will let that be known to the right people when they someone is suddenly looking really good and getting a lot of good press among pro-Trump people and anyone else who believes in the rule of law.

I agree. GOPeCare should have been, and IS (I pray) dead on arrival at that vote tomorrow.

Ryan is a GOPe skunk. All he did here was stink up the place.

He thinks way to highly of himself. He’s a little pipsqueak.

“Ryan covers illegals healthcare, raises premiums and does not repeal Obamacare”

This is BS made up by Mark Levin. The Ryan bill is online.

If you don’t like Ryan the alternative is Pelosi.

A good soul?
Telling Congress he would only be Speaker if he didn’t have to work weekends and that he expected obedience. He is arrogant, lazy and amoral.
