President Trump delivered an ultimatum to House Republicans on Thursday night: Vote to approve the measure to overhaul the nations health-care system on the House floor Friday, or reject it and the president will move on to his other legislative priorities.
The president signaled that the time for negotiations was over with rank-and-file Republicans who were meeting late at night on Capitol Hill to try to find common ground on the embattled package crafted by House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.).
The move was a high-risk gamble for the president and speaker, who have both invested significant political capital in passing legislation that would rewrite the 2010 Affordable Care Act. For Trump, who campaigned as a skilled negotiator capable of forging a good deal on behalf of Americans, it could either vindicate or undercut one of his signature claims. If the measure fails, it would mean that Obamacare something that congressional Republicans have railed against for seven years would remain in place.
Disastrous #Obamacare has led to higher costs & fewer options. It will only continue to get worse! We must #RepealANDReplace. #PassTheBill, Trump tweeted from his official White House account as the meeting was wrapping up Thursday night.

Stop the diddling around and pass the bill. The public is sick of these pompous buttheads who won’t work to get us relief from Obama’s policies. I refuse to read thru the comments on this thread. Some of the posters have to be Dems undercover.
the alternative is to resurrect the bill Obama vetoed.
It’s a better bill and it defunds Planned parenthood.
“Ultimatums are not how you do deals.
I call BS on this.”

I agree. Trump is not an idiot like Obama when Obama actually said “Don’t call my bluff!”. And Obama said that to much derision by FReepers and others.
“Trump wants conservatives to go RINO or he moves on to the next thing on his list he wants to check off. Trump did not promise RINOCare... or did he and I just miss it?”
The “moderate” Republicans will never vote for the bill you approve.
Get a bill to the Senate and let Paul, Cruz, Cotton and Lee get at it. Then see if the moderates will reject the Senate bill.
Otherwise, let it die in the House.
“...Ryan was right. 100% right. That is one brilliant guy. From day 1, THIS is the closest you’ll ever get. Never again will there be a chance.”

Is that you, Paul Ryan? Or, perhaps, Paul’s mom?
We have already had years of ObamaCare imploding and double-digit annual increases in health care costs. They elected Obama again.
No ... if Trump isn't successful in repealing ObamaCare like he promised given a Republican Congress ... then I am afraid he loses.
What I don't get is why it is so urgent to get a bill through the House on Friday. Congress and the WH should get in a lockdown mode until they can cut a deal. They are running three branches of the government FCOL.
Move on!
Trump is getting too big for his britches. You can make the principled conservatives start a new party so you won’t have the opportunity to replace them in a primary, Donny. You can only play spoiler for the benefit of the Democrats if that happens, and you aren’t gonna do that. That’s why it’s your turn to oblige someone you see as against you. They hold the cards, not you this time.
Trump is smart though and will probably realize that he can’t win by triangulating to the Ryan left. He has no support base when he’s over there. Well, maybe some really unconvincing bought propagandists.
And the conservatives can prevent Trump from “moving on”. You sure as hell can’t give him his tax cuts yet because you might have to raise taxes on the millionaires and billionaires who are benefiting from the Trump Care that he wants to pass. Health care has to come before tax cuts. Do you really expect to make the middle class pay for the health care of the illegal aliens that all of Trump’s country club buddies at mara-a-laga want to employ?
YEP.
Sarah RYAN has one goal in mind he has promised his Donors and
K-street that Trump may have won much to EVERYONE’S dismay BUT he would do EVERYTHING possible to make his agenda FAIL!!! He would do EVERYTHING in his power to make sure Trump IS a one term POTUS!!! This little WEASLE feels he is SO SECURE in his district he has the power with his K-street buddies to make Trump useless!!! Next shoe to drop are Trumps tax cuts Trump wants BIG tax cuts LYIN RYAN will do all he can to make Trumps tax cuts SHRINK as much as possible!!! He will call it deficit neutral !!!!!
Just a general question for those who might know: Phase 2 of the bill is suppose to give Secretary Tom Price lots of space to make good changes and additions (since Obamacare gives the HHS Secretary much power). But if Price makes good changes, what happens if/when a Democrat is elected President? Won’t the Dem HHS Secretary just undo what Mr. Price has done?
Somebody has been at the kool-aid again
I think Ryan is holding tax relief hostage until his healthcare is passed. I don’t blame Trump.
Paul Ryan is such a dufus because maybe his plan is to derail Trump and make him a one term President but if this health care bill is a massive fail it will destroy the Republican Party..so he’s willing to destroy the GOP for this lunacy..just let Obamacare die, and later on come up with a good health care bill that will benefit everyone(Except illegals, they should NOT be allowed to have health care on our dime)
“you might have to raise taxes on the millionaires and billionaires who are benefiting from the Trump Care that he wants to pass.”
First of all, the “millionaires and billionaires” pay ALL the taxes. The top 10% pay 90% of the taxes. And the bottom 50% are FREELOADERs, including half of the middle class. Fact.
Second of all, why the class warfare? The millionaires and the billionaires employ ALL. Fact.
Third, you might be a millionaire. Just check your house value, retirement accounts and tally up your 401k. Chances are you are in the multi millions. If you have worked for 30+ years and are broke, you must have made some serious life choice mistakes. Can’t blame on those evil millionaires and billionaires.
Ryan was thinking about one of his pledges when he first ran for speaker which was to block a conservative from succeeding Speaker John Boehner (R.-OH).
