As the Senate Judiciary Committee was hearing from witnesses for and against Judge Neil Gorsuch, his Supreme Court nomination was delivered a critical blow: Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) said he would join with other Democrats in filibustering Gorsuch a move that would require at least 60 senators to vote to end debate on the nomination.

Chuckies got his orders. Get them to change the "rules". Then when we get everything back in 2020, we get the free ride.
Yeh...right Chuckie...

Stupid Dems. After Gorsuch is confirmed by 52 GOP votes, the next selection, after Ginsburg leaves, may be far more conservative than Gorsuch and the Dems wont be able to stop him/her since the precedent for the nuclar option has been set.
I've heard more than one commentator speak as if it is common knowledge that Anthony Kennedy will step down after this term. I hope they are right, because then the next two justices will be approved with only a fifty-vote threshold if Sharkface Schumer goes ahead with this.

OMG. This is so simple.
Just reverse the situation. How long would it take for Schumer to go nuclear? SECONDS!

Yup. The “Harry Reid” Nuclear Option... which allowed the Obama admin to flood the lower courts with Liberal judges.

“Well, unless 8 Democrats cross the isle, time to use the nuclear option - and Id use it for all bills and not just USSC.”
These are not normal times. The dimoKKKRATS have declared all out war against the Republicans. It is time to fight back likewise. Go nuclear.

N.U.K.E. E.M.
We're saddled with the Tuna Lappers for decades, we need judges like Gorsuch to even out the playing field.

Nuke em, nah. Let’s “Harry Reid” them. Refer to the option as the “Reid Option”. That will embarrass the dems if they can be embarrassed.

They have not played by the rules for years.

“simply call these people the radical Left.”
No. We need to call them “the hateful Left”.
Much more descriptive and understandable.

This is perfect. There is zero rationale for their actions. Pubs can easily say they are forced to use the nuke option. Do that now well in advance of the next SC vacancy which would be a greater fight.

The Senate has not been a “deliberative body” since passage of the 17th Amendment, IMO.

Wimps! And this is why we lose so often. The Dems take it seriously and treat it as life or death.

Also, make the filibuster speech germane to the issue...No more “Green Eggs and Ham” speeches or reading Tom Sawyer....

I think at this point, we go to a NEUTRON option.
An AYE vote for any confirmation shall only take 20 votes.

The Repubs need to invoke the nuclear option now, because if they dont, you can be damn sure the Dems will next time they have control of the Senate. Like the commercial says "Just do it". Nuke the filibuster. Nuke it from orbit.
You know it will be a fight to the death on the next nominee.
