WASHINGTON President Trump on Tuesday turned up the pressure on recalcitrant Republicans to support a sweeping bill to overhaul the health care system, threatening wavering lawmakers in his party with political payback if they failed to get behind a measure that has become an early test of his negotiating power.
In a series of meetings and phone calls at the White House and on Capitol Hill, Mr. Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and Republican congressional leaders haggled with holdouts over details as they struggled to assemble a majority to support a bill that would repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. The legislation is scheduled for a floor vote on Thursday in the House.
But at a private meeting with House Republicans at the Capitol, the president also delivered a blunt warning that many of those present would lose their seats in next years midterm congressional elections if the effort failed.
Im going to come after you, Mr. Trump told Representative Mark Meadows, Republican of North Carolina, a prime holdout and the chairman of the conservative Freedom Caucus, a hotbed of concern about the legislation, according to several people in the room who described his comments on condition of anonymity because the session was private. I believe Mark and his group will come along, because honestly, a loss is not acceptable, folks.

Fake news. That is twisting what Trump said.
If Congress agrees with forcing Phase 2 and 3, we will be okay.
They would have us believe that Trump is going after the ones that actually want to repeal this mess?
Yes, they should repeal Obamacare.
But Ryancare is not repeal.
It is rearranging.
I hope this is fake news. This bill is a POS. The second and third fix will never happen. We will be stuck with this turkey.
Anyone who votes for this (or signs it) needs to be primaried.
I can’t believe Trump is pushing this crap.
This Veteran says Not Just no! Yesterday’s tweak means VETERANS who chose to go somwhere other than the VA they lose their subsidy? Illegals get better care under Trump than VETERANS. Congress, do your job! Citizens first.. VETERANS have sacrificed so much, already.
Trump can (and kind of has to) do phase 2 - that's regulatory change - without any legislation at all. Phase 3 is imaginary - it requires 60 votes in the Senate which the GOP doesn't have and won't until 2019 at the earliest.
The guy who called the Clintons “very good people” years ago has a HUGE judgment problem. But I believe that he is really trying to do his best. Unfortunately, he is listening to frauds such as Ryano, who will lead his Presidency to ruin.
Who knows, pick your story.
NYT or this one:
What I heard Laura Ingraham say on Hannitys show last night was that its a pipe dream to get phase 3....not going to happen. They both questioned why they are not undertaking a complete repeal and replace as promised.
Doesn't sound like a joke.
If Trump wants this passed he has to turn up the heat, House and Senate Dems didn't pass Obamacare by telling their members who wanted single payer to be free spirits or idealistic .
But hey, at least RyanCare now has that Buffalo Buyout for a couple of upstate Congresscritters. Because, you know, Buffalo New York is great. Go Bills!
1. He is the Donald
2. The Donald is the President of the United States
3. The Donald is a WINNER. The Donald does not LOSE.
4. Any questions, go to Rule #1.
Of course not. It's a nod to conservatives - "of course we want to do something conservative. Just not yet. Maybe in twenty years. But here, take the Buffalo Buyout and be happy."
Trump won’t go after them. Their constituents will, either by primary, or if worst comes to worse, by going Democrat. Either way, these recalcitrant ones shall not return to Congress.
Fake but accurate. Trump threatened conservatives 2 weeks ago to vote for RyanCare or else.
My Congresscritter is a ‘No’ on this bill, and his seat is safe enough.
Warning to RINOs: Make it a real repeal or lose your seats (and possibly face much bigger repercussions).
