The thief who swiped a Secret Service agent’s laptop targeted the agent in question and knew exactly what he was after ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ.
Our sources say the thief -- whom they say is a man -- was caught on surveillance video pulling up to the agent's driveway in an Uber at around 3 AM Thursday. The video shows the man make a beeline for the agent's car, removing a backpack with the computer inside and then walking off. As we reported, the hard drive contained Trump Tower floor plans and evacuation protocols, but the agency insists there was no classified info inside.
The thief also made off with a passport and several Secret Service lapel pins. It's unclear what the thief was looking for if all the content was non-sensitive. We're told the video is grainy so it's hard to make out the thief's features, but it's definitely a lead.

What has happened to this agency.

Yeah....that backpack with the laptop inside was left for a scheduled pickup.
This was a drop and a pickup. No one “stole” anything.
Every SS agent is most likely spied upon by other countries’ agents.
This ‘thief’ knew what, where, when and how....................
If the video was "grainy" and of poor quality...how could they distinguish the UBER sticker on the car....?
and if it was UBER they can get the start address, full name and credit card number and credit history, address etc of the rider.
Is this a stupid or too obvious question.....WHY didn’t the Secret Service Agent take this sensitive material inside his home????

WHAT?! It was targeted? LOL! Uh, yeah. My thoughts from the git-go. NOT random act of petty thievery. But don’t worry. Without the superultra secret decoder ring it’s just a paper weight. Right? WHO leaves their laptop so easily accessible? Guess the same people who leave their weapons easily accessible like in SF/Kate shooting.
I still don’t understand how a Bajaj motorcycle got into this story.
It appears it was a car as per eye witness.
Lamecherry theorized the guy was suppose to make a copy but took the laptop instead for protection.
