This doesn't pass the smell test....

If the video was "grainy" and of poor quality...how could they distinguish the UBER sticker on the car....?

and if it was UBER they can get the start address, full name and credit card number and credit history, address etc of the rider.

If it’s a guy getting out of what appears to be a cab, police can ask cab companies (including Uber) for info matching surveillance video. Uber (if not all cabbies) undoubtedly GPS-tracks all rider information.

If it looks like a handoff, then CC etc info about passenger is probably faked/stolen.
